Just been reading in the Reporter that The Club Call will be shown live on SKY TV on Sunday from KR. Mick Potter will reveal the club Saints have chosen ahead of the Premier League Match between Man United and Liverpool.

What a stupid invention. Unless someone finally chooses a team other than the lowest ranked team it will continue to be an embarassing farce.

Can we not get someone else to do the choosing? St Bernard or even Johnny Vegas perhaps? Mick Potter shyly mumbling, "Warrington Wolfs please Bob" isn't going to make great tele now is it?

Am I right in thinking that Saints can refuse the club call if they wish to? In which I think I'm right in that Wigan would then be coming to Saints anyway? That's what I've been informed of. Not sure if it's correct though.

Because you can't play the same team you've already played if you do end up refusing the club call. I'm sure this is how the same system works in the AFL. Only asking as nobody seems to have touched up on it if the scenario works out, I was informed by a stains friend of mine so was just checking.

why would Saints refuse it - it is ridiculous, but there is no benefit in refusing to go through with it.

I would expect McManus to make a thinly veiled attack on the principle, then let Potter announce who it is we are playing. No fuss, just get on with it.

Well Sky have got to apparently give 10 days notice. As we're only 8 days away from the current chosen date then I'm hoping we're pretty safe.

I'm quite looking forward to watching them and Wigan smash each other into bloodied chunks.

The bad feeling from the last game, from both sides, will surely spill over into a semi-final clash.

But then that effectively means Saints ARE accepting the club call and chosing Wigan? Whats the difference between choosing Wigan or refusing the club call and being handed Wigan by default?

Got to be Wigan, we can't leave like it is with them winning their last game at KR. Get them to KR and smash 'em, they're an empty burnt out shell of the fit team that started the season.
