All the best big man. I've loved watching Maurie at Saints and he's always welcome back for me, one of the family.

best time for this for him and us, he's probably got another 4 yrs in him at RU

I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn out a time or two for Quins RL if they get short too, not had the impact of a few years ago and is certainly prolonging his playing career by re3verting to domestic Union

We certainly need another prop for next year though so I'd hope to see LMS or A.N Other signed up soon

Best move for all concerned. When he's on his game there isn't a better impact forward in the league. Unfortunately, however, he seems to be one of those players who has to be absolutely 100% fit to perform well, and we haven't had consistent performances from him for a while now.

If the rumours about LMS are true then I think it's good business. He'd be less explosive but much more consistent.

All that said, I will always have fond memories of Maurie as a Saint.

I believe Feka is a free agent for next year still? Could we turn the fat useless tub of lard into a Maurie replacement?

It was fun while it lasted, a beast of a man. I remember in a game against wakey, one of their lads had treid to rough him up on the floor in a tackle, so he got up and took the next ball up, trampled over said player and offloaded for the try.
That was around the time he scored in 7 consecutive appearences and was really tearing it up.

For me he'll be remembered for celebrating with his haka after adding to his rather bulging collection of winners medals with a cup winners medal in the first final at the new Wembley stadium.

Although best his best, sorry to see him go. A fit Maurie is still one of the best impact players around.

It would be great if he can get to the playoffs and do some unfinished business with Ryan Bailey, that would be a great send off for all concerned.

I doubt it from what he said at a Forum, he said "its taking me 2-3 days to get over games now Im getting on in my career and Im unable to have an active part in my kids lives and thats possibly a sign I have to end it..."

Been great player and great to watch. Maurie at his best is all action.

I think over last few years we've lacked the roby and maurie impact off the bench.

He's not played well for 2yrs now and it's best he goes but been great for us.

I'll be sad to see him go. He's been a great character and an immense player for us. Good luck to him and his family.
