| Hello All,
Just thought this deserved a quick message. Only just managed to find time to watch last nights match, and it seemed like a very impressive atmosphere in comparison to recent months. And all I can say to that is "Good on ya", a very good advert for Rugby League.
Keep it up and I hope the attendances are maintained also.

| It was the best atmosphere at Saints of the season by a mile. Sometimes you get special nights like that where the fans and players 'click'.

| I have to say you lot were great. I just wished we'd had more to cheer about
I never thought I'd say this, but I'll miss the visits to Knowsley Road.

Maybe that's because you were either in the away stand when their team was getting tonked, or among very few people in an end with no roof on?

So you are saying the atmosphere was good in 25% of the ground then

How on Earth have you come to that conclusion? Are you suggesting that the biggest stand at the ground consists of 25%? I'm no mathematician but that is an odd one.
In the main stand the atmosphere was brilliant, the pop side the atmosphere was brilliant and the Leeds fans made plenty of noise until they were out of the game. I'm only judging the tiny stand by your comments, as I'm assuming this is the one that you are talking about.

| Let's be honest, if you think the atmosphere was that good last week, that shows how poor it has become over the last couple of years and what people have become used to rather than how good it was on this particular occassion.
Can't remember the last time KR was really rocking!
I moved off the scaff last season for the first time in 24 years as people there seemed more interested in shouting mildly humourous comments at opposing players, texting their mates, or chatting up the girls around them than they did supporting the team. It got boring and and I got bored with it.
So bored in fact that it is probably only the away days and the craic on the coach that keeps me going at the moment! I hope things change.

Maybe what you say about the atmosphere is true - although I think the Leeds match of last season was definitely an exception to that! But whatever you say about where you were or whatever else you're saying, if you'd been at my end of the pop side on Saturday you wouldn't have seen a single person texting, hardly heard a single person talking - their eyes were glued to the pitch and they were grinning for most of the match, utterly delighted, cheering and egging on the team, even some who never open their mouths were singing. It was great at my end of the pop and it gave me hope for the future!

| The atmosphere and support for the team was reasonably good on Saturday. However, I think the Popular Side has lost a bit of class of late.
Firstly, cheering when opposition players are hurt never used to happen it it should cease.
The other is blatantly obscene chanting continually. I am not offended by the odd expletive but singing so and so's a c*** continually isn't too clever or remotely humorous in my book.
There are a bunch of irritating lads a few yards to my right who perpetrate most of the above, cheer and sing when we are winning but are the first to boo the team when things are going against us.
Lets regain some class please.

I think that is awful. I heard it at the Wigan match and I couldn't believe it.

| I was more annoyed at the sarcastic cheering when Leeds scored there 2 try's to get them back in the game. Piss*s me right off.
Vs Toulouse they claped the Toulouse players when they scored. I dont care if they came from Fji on a bus,we support Saints not the French. Have Sympathy on NOBODY!!!!

It wasn't sympathy IMO; it was sportsmanship. They are a lower league team who made a massive effort to honour their Challenge Cup fixture such that their league game of the following week had to be cancelled. I think the fact that they made such a huge effort alone was a good enough reason to show them respect. And they kept going to the end as well. They deserved every round of applause IMO.
Leeds are a different matter entirely, however.

I agree 100% with this. It does my head in also, in the past some fans have clapped the likes of Harlequins on to the pitch, it's something that does my head in also. You don't clap/cheer the opposition!

The Pop Side in years gone by would always clap good rugby played by the opposition especially lower division clubs. Your comments are indicative of exactly the point I was making.
