I know it's 3 weeks away but I'm starting to get excited about the coming season.

So how do you guys think your first game will go against Hull? Are you expecting an easy ride or do you think we are going to be back up at the top this year?

Personally I quite fancy our chances. I expect that it will be a forward battle (it usually is this early in the season) and having seen our forwards on Sunday I think that they will be able to look after any pack this year. Sean Long to kick a match winning drop goal has a nice ring to it.

It will come as a surprise to many on here, but I think Hull will win.

I think the fact that Hull have had a good warm up against a pretty strong KR side means we are up against it for this match. Hull look to have a very strong forward pack, which is important early doors when the weather is bad and the backs tend to be still working on combinations.

I predict a very close game and would sway towards a Hull win.

I also predict that such a result would have the knee-jerkers slating 15 of the 17 who played, calling for Potter to be sacked and complaining that, despite them having many millions tied up in the club, the board don't care about the squad, the club or our lamentable predicament of making the GF every year.

I reckon Longy will be itching to hit us with a last minute drop goal. I'll be waiting for it all match! (I must remember not to cheer for him ...)

TBH, unless we are clear at the top of the table, then this reaction will go on all season. Last season reminded me of Andersons first season in-charge, but he managed to sort things out and we kicked on, although he had a stronger squad to work with.

I am confident that we will beat Hull, although it will be a tough game and i think Hull will go well this season. I'd say they will be looking at around about 5th, definatly comfortably in the top 8. Obviously injuries play a big part for all teams, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. I think we'll beat Hull by about 8-10 points, it'd be nice to see Longy have a good season though, wish him well.

I have to say it seemed mighty strange seeing Long in a Hull shirt. I can`t wait for the new season to start,and we can`t have a better yardstick to asses our prospects than a game against Saints.

I think Saints, just. I'd be surprised if Long didn't have a good game against us. I'm itching to see Soliola in action, I'm hoping for some bone-crushing defence.

Really looking forward to this, the fact Longy is our captain now really gets the juices going, the showman that he is I expect it will be a grand affair for him and I have no doubts he will step up to the mark..I also expect a fantastic battle of the forwards..Think we do just enough.

I can imagine he would have mixed feelings if he scored a try.I should think he would celebrate as if he was at any other game.

I still think Saints will win but I think Hull have a great chance of turning Saints over. I think our pack will get the better of theirs as I would imagine will be the case alot of the time this season. But can our inexpieranced backs pull it off? Close game with the winning team winning by no more than 8 points.

Watching him last weekend the guy is still class and i have no doubt he will have a point to prove.I am really excited about how Saints will try and deal with him playing for the black and whites,as he will be the dangerman playing against you.
