| Quote Huddersfield Giants dominated the awards at the prestigious Super League Man of Steel dinner in Manchester.
Australian full-back Brett Hodgson was named Man of Steel, fellow countryman Nathan Brown won the coach-of-the-year award and Huddersfield were named engage Super League club of the year.
Brown topped a poll of his fellow Super League coaches after transforming the fortunes of the West Yorkshire club in his first season at the Galpharm Stadium. '"

| Says everything about our competition. A guy who would be Australia number 5 or 6 fullback at best! Comes over and outshines everybody.
Congrats.

I'd say hudds was the team of the year.
The finished 3rd bottom last year and 3rd from top this year and a challenge cup final.
I also agree with brown being coach of the year.
I don't think hodgson should have won man of steel as I think graham and mozza have been better this year.

| Well, if this is true then I'm surprised at the players. If Graham wasn't going to get it a second time then surely Moz should have won it?
As for coach and team of the year, well Hudds are the best improved team and Brown is their coach so that would figure.

I would imagine it would be Tomkins. I just can't see beyond him for that award. Eastmond hasn't done enough and Myler faded badly then disappeared from view entirely.

| Stop being bitter! I think Brett deserved it and Huddersfield had a good season for them and played some good rugby under Brown.
I am just about getting sick and tired reading the letters pages in the two weekly rugby papers, it is like watching young girls in the school yard! if it not St Helens, Leeds and Wigan supporters whining at each other, it is Leigh and Widnes fans who seem will be bitter for evermore! what a way to go through life.

bit disrespectful there mate. hodgson has been one of my favuorite n.r.l players for years he's consistency personified i did go on the fartown forum when they signed him and told them the same and also that he would be a great player for them. i.m.o he's a class act and deserves his m.o.s award

Would have to agree with Adrian Monk. Hodgson has never won an aussie cap as far as i can recall so he has never been classed as good enough for the kangaroos, however he is a quality player and i think his award is justified.

| I think the award is about all-round contribution and not being the best in your 'position'.
Hodgson ran the Hudds team for a lot of their game and in that acted as more than a Full-Back.
There are equally good FB's in the SL like Briscoe or positionally maybe Wellens but they don't match Hodgson for his all-round contribution.
However I wouldn't have complained at any of the three getting it.

| Graham deserved it of the three nominated IMO. Think Peacock and Senior would have pushed him close if they had been in the running also.
Everytime Huddersfield have played Leeds Hodgson was pretty poor. Graham on the other hand is no flat track bully - typified by creating a try against Leeds just minutes after suffering a chicken-wing tackle! He's more than just a metre maker.
I wonder how much this award was determined by popularity. Everyone goes on about how much of a nice bloke Hodgson is - perhaps that clinched it over bruisers Morley and Graham?

If I could pick one player to miss the GF for Saints to ensure a Leeds win it would be Graham. Like Peacock at Leeds, he IMO makes more of a contribution to the overall fortunes of the team. At Huddersfield it is difficult to separate the relative influence of Brown and Hodgson to their more recent 'success'.
