Potter ain't that type of person mate. He just gets on with his job the best he can.

Not bad in his 1st year, semi of cc, 2nd in league and the grand final.

He also done it with a much weaker squad than DA and millward.

Maybe he wanted the night and the post match stuff to be about the two players playing their last home game for the club?

Strange man isn't he. I don't see how someone who is so scared of the spotlight and seems to have so little personality can be a successful player and then a coach at the second highest level. Bizarro.

How does he get his message across to the players when he's so shy and retiring?

In the past Millward would have cartwheeled onto the field, banged his chest and fist pumped the crowd into a frenzy. DA would have donned the shades in an exaggerated style and grabbed the mic like Elvis whilst Potter simply walks out of the stand and hides in the kit cupboard until everyone has gone home.

I think people forget DA in his first year was very quiet.

Potter has "warmed up" this year from the first sky interviews. If we win next week I expect a more confident guy next year.

Said same thing to a mate of mine last week, DA never said a word in his 1st year.

Personality is over-rated and nobody is the perfect all-rounder. Certainly Potter is the anit-Millward as far as their public persona is concerned.

Yet with a far weaker squad he's steered Saints to a Grand Final.

As long as the team produce the goods on the field (and we need to wait till he's got his own team together to really judge that) then I couldn't care less if he never speaks to the media.

Get someone else at the club to do it; Scully or Benno could do a go PR job there.

G'day, Mr Potter was on the pitch at the end of the game. After the final whistle both he & Noble went to their respective teams - the SKY boys got hold of Noble probably 'cos of his announcement. Potter walked acroos the pitch from the main stand to the pop side and then congratulated his players before walking round with them. He was with Long when he & Gilmour came across to the main stand before leaving the pitch for the last time as Saints players.
