More metres and more carries than any other player in SL says it all.
He has been a machine and carried our pack on his shoulders.
If they give the award for consistency there's no doubt that Graham should win it again, though there are other players who are worthy of the award too.

Stats don't tell the full story though and you can manipulate them to illustrate a case for each player if thats your thing. Compare him to Peacock. Graham has made 582 carries to Peacocks 451 and 4171m to Peacocks 3285m. So, does that mean Peacock is more the 'Machine' as he averages 7.28m per carry to Grahams 7.16m.
Peacock has also made 674 tackles to Grahams 537 although he has missed more tackles conceeded more pens and played 1 mor game than Graham.
Anyway who knows what criteria players will be using to select who gets their vote? Mos is a side show now anyway made ridiculous by previous awards over the last few years ie Roby. one of your guys made the same point on your board, he also noted that Cunningham has never been awarded MoS wich illustrates again what a joke it has been over the last few years, as we all know Cunningham is Mr Consistency. |

And worryingly remains the best English centre we've got 
KC makes a difference for Saints, without fail. Great player and I can't believe he's never won MoS. This year though, I'd say Graham deserves it more than Peacock IMO, as given your injuries and lack of another quality prop or two, he is getting through an inhuman amount of work for his age and I hope he doesn't burn himself out. He's obviously set himself a massive standard in his performances, the sign of a real winner.
I remember the first time I saw Graham play against Wakey, thinking that we might have a chance due to Saints having a few injuries - Graham came on (might have been after Fozzy suffered whiplash and was stretchered off - hazy memory) and stormed through for a try...
If not Graham, then Brett Hodgson should be a good shout. |

I know. The English game has neglected the development of its centres and wingers for way too long (although one or two wingers appear to be developing here and there).

Ditto, in that he's just a great player in his role. He's obviously on the downward slope of his career now, so MoS won't be his this year. But I reckon he deserves it above Senior, if the old men are in contention!

He is working his butt off. From that perspective, he does deserve it again. But he won't get it again. There are bound to be others in contention this year and I'd agree with you in suggesting Brett Hodgson. But there must be others, too. I haven't really given it much thought as yet, other than to come to the conclusion that it definitely must not be Senior! |
