Beaten today and thoroughly beaten in every element of the game. Not by Leeds, but by Huddersfield.

The lineup today is a glimpse of our future, no Long, no direction and so few yard making forwards (We've got one). I'm sure we'll still be one of the stronger sides in the competition as we'll still have a solid 17, but we're lacking in key positions and areas now (No pace, no kicking game, no forward dominance). I think we may well have seen the last of regular trips to major finals.

Hopefully this will bring some passion back to KR. And for me Super League is as wide open as it could possibly be. I think Leeds v Giants at OT, with Leeds sneaking it, but next season you could literally toss 8 or so sides into a a hat and draw out the winners.

at least give hudds some credit! They played their backsides off, and frankly, just looked like they wanted it far more than your boys today.

You could tell last week and again today as soon as Cunningham went off, there was nothing from saints going forward.

Its not often you can say this, but St`s had the look of a team that thought they simply had to turn up to win today. Where-as you could tell that each and every Hudders player really wanted that game today. They ran their blood to water and worked their backsides off, to make up for the many mistakes that were made. It`s going to be a very tough final in a couple of weeks.

credit to saints though for going all those years without losing a challenge cup game.. it had to end sometime

your top of the league you sound like some leeds fans ,but i agree with you about next season at least 5or 6 could win super league next year.i wouldnt write off huddersfield this year although being at wembley could hamper them

We don't even have the excuse of wet weather. But yes, there was a lack of creativity when we were in their half (apart form Eastmond solos), but Hudds did defend magnificently, given the number of times they turned over the ball to us.

We don't play well in the sunshine. In overcast conditions we're unbeatable.

Saints have many experienced players who will be there for a while yet and many young players coming through in the right positions at the right time.

LONG! he has been poop at times this season and you have still won.

You 'may' have a quiet year next year but the year after you will be fine.

What's happening to you is what happens to all great teams in the end; you have lost the core of your team, who were head and shoulders above the opposition only a couple of years ago.

You've had a great run in the cup, and you've consistently been the best team in SL.

The challenge now is not to go the way of Wigan, who are mediocre, with lazy players and a single idea coach.

We are actually not far off a good team really, 2 players and a good coach.

We have actually proved we are not far off because in the last 2 years we have been 3rd, just one game from old trafford and also 2 semi finals in the cup in 3 years. This shows we are not far from a bad side and we have shown we can get the big results against leeds and saints.

The CC dream had to come to an end one day and unfortunately today was that day, but we are still lucky to be in the position we are in now.

We were beaten fair and square, but we can't back up a big performances, which isn't looking good for the play offs.

Well done Huddersfield, let this year be their year for the CC

its good for the game that wire and hudds are going to contest the final and it's showing how the salary cap is turning our sport into a very competitive one,saints have been the benchmark and best side for the last few years but from now on no team can expect to be dominant for such a long period of time.

That's the same for all teams now. This competition's intensity is improving year on year. We used to have a big four then it was a big two and now the big two are back in the pack. There is no clear gap between the big two and the rest now. Super Duper League has arrived.

alright today we were beaten, but were still top of the league, we just didnt look interested at all and we need to get back to the way we played under daniel anderson - IMO we'll be fine theres no worries

I don't think it is the end of an era but i do thing that it is the beginning of a period of Saints doing very well each year but no where near what they were.

The game went the way I thought. We camped out on there line and didn't score.

It was same last week and against the wildcats. I've never known a saints team spend so much time on there line and not score.

Our kicking game improved slightly on last week but our attack is worst I've seen for along time.

As everyone has said we are in urgent need for at least 1 prop but I think we need a winger with pace. Our backs are to slow and it's starting to show more each week.

Next year soliola will add some pace but our back 3 are slowest in the league by a mile.

i said it at the wigan game and ill say it today when have saints EVER lacked invention or composure 10 meters out? .Today exemplifys how much we miss long,wilkins invisible,wellens running through on 5th tackle players out of position,flat as a pancake .Potter inherited a good side and hes detracted albeit ANDERSONS ALWAYS GONNA BE A HARD ACT TO FOLLOW,but for me the missing x factor is potter he just doesnt have the ability to bring anything new .ok cant lay it all on pansy but for me he is certainly the major factor in saints listless lack lustre attack new coach for me potter cant bring anything to the table sorry to potter loyalists but thats my pennys worth

I just hope Potter doesn't get all sort of abuse for this. We are in transition and had to lose a cup game eventually.

Bear in mind thats given us a week off, we looked shagged at the end.
