Both play different postions so hard to say really.

What I will say though is that longy imo is finished and gilmour still going pretty strong.

How is Long finished exactly? He's still easy the best half back in Super League.

I'm not going to get caught up in a heated debate with you over this but il explain why I think long is finished.

He has lost his electric pace, his passing at times is rubbish, his defence is not what it was and his all round kicking game is awful.

Don't get me wrong though he is still able to put big games in but not on regular basis.

I'd also like to add he is 1 of my fave players and should go down as saints all time great.

Sir mac did the correct thing by not giving him new deal.

Based upon this season's form, I'd keep Gilmour.

Longy going down hill fast but gilmour still going strong.

I'd take Gilmour, cause i think over 2 years which they are asking, I think Gilmour could offer more for his role, than Long, also we have people waiting for Long to Leave in the Wings, Moore, Eastmond, Smith etccc...

Personally I would have kept Gilmour due to better form and he can play in the backs and forwards.
