I mistakenly recorded over the match against Wire last season when he drop kicked that beauty in the dying seconds. I've been kicking myself ever since because now no DVDs are available of matches so it's lost to me forever.



Longy has been tremendous for us and a great character. I'm sad to see him go. I just hope he finds a way to bow out gracefully as I'd hate to see it all end on a sour note or with him looking desperate. I'd be ok with him playing another year so long as he is rested sometimes to give whoever is following on from him good game time, but I'm not ok with him having two years. It's right to think first and foremost of the club's future and we have some talented players waiting in the background who need to be given a real chance to make the spot their own.

As much as I like and respect longs contribution to the game , its stretching a point to say "there isnt a club in the northern hemisphere who would ignore the chance to sign him " are you seriously suggesting the likes of Leeds or Hull KR would prefer him to the Half Backs they already have ???

I think one or two fans are guilty of being awash with sentimentality just now. It will pass.

Leeds are maybe one.

While Hull KR fans won't admit it, longy would be a huge coup for them, especially marketing wise.

Will always remember him kicking a goal for you at our place to take the game into what everyone thought was gonna be extra-time , for some reason he had to wait for what seemed an age to take the kick , it was from the southstand touchline and he was getting some awful bird from the Leeds speccies , at one point he sat on the wall at the front and was chatting to the kids at the front ! Then he slotted the kick , true class that lad .
