Is anyone else concerned about our lack of kickers? Even when we have Long we're still very dodgy in the goalkicking department. We're playing some great rugby & scoring a fair few trys so we're getting away with it. It just worries me, that its going to cost us. Leeds should have been out of sight on Sunday, but the scoreline ended up very close.
Can we not carry a player who is a good kicker, in a similiar way that Wigan used to carry Botica?

No, not at all. Wigan had an amazing team back then. He wasn't a bad player at all but compared to his team mates he was average. However his kicking was excellent. With him in your team the scorelines were often very flattering.

Dont be stupid, we all know Lyon wont be able to play NRL games soon because he wont play for AUS and will come over and kick for saints!

Botica was not an average player. He was a great utility player and a great goalkicker.

He would walk into any current Superleague side.

Very underrated was Botica. He used to cause us a fair bit of grief with ball in hand if memory serves.

I said he was average compared to his team mates, which he was. He was a good player, but, if it wasn't for his superb goalkicking, they'd have shipped in a far better player with ball in hand.

Botica caught the ball on his own try line in the left hand corner opposite the clubhouse.

He went infield, beat a couple of Saints players and did a run around with Kevin Iro.

One he took the ball he accelerated down the wing outpacing the Saints cover and scored in the right hand corner at the club house end.

He must have run 140 to 150 yards for the try.

As Dux has said he was a very underrated player, and possibly the most accurate kicked I have ever seen.

The Saints pitch is the smallest in SL, it's only 52 yards and 16 inches long

It doesn't appear to have bothered Saints over the last 4 years of us struggling with regular goalkickers. One would say they're not bothered.

The floodlights dont even cover all that.
