How many times tonight did a Saints player get deliberately bent back over his own limbs/body in an attempt to hurt them? There was a few tonight that could have ended careers, particularly one on Dixon. Plenty of 'snapping the pole' as they like to call it on the posters on the wall at their evil underground lair.'"
I reckon the ape's tactics will be worse.

| Shame to see him go. One of the very best coaches to grace SL. Nice guy too.
Congratulations by the way. Still haven't decided who I want to win the GF yet though. I'll let you know midweek.

I doubt you have met him otherwise you wouldn't speak of him like that. I have met him several times and he is actually a really nice bloke. You are just making a fool of yourself.

Thanks but I have to disagree on Mr Smug , He has introduced some horrible tactics and turned Wigan into a very niggly very disliked team. It's nothing to do with jealousy either(like alot of Wigan fans think), Dire finished top and have dominated games like no other team this year but people still (grudgingly) admire them.
Whatever he's like as a bloke off the field doesnt matter, the things he coaches his players to do onfield is what makes him such an ar$ehole in Rugby terms
Farewell Mr Smug and good riddance.

But Wigan are back. For years we were mediorce purely making up the numbers in SL. Now under the leadership of Lenegan we've won a GF and CC in the past two years, and will no doubt be challenging for honors yet again next season.

And if your playing a decent brand of Rugby it will be for the better of the game that you are challenging. Alot will depend on your coaching setup

The way you lot was talking you thought it was the 80s all over again but it's not as we are all fulltime now
I think you lot will now see just what a achievement it's been for saints to get to so many grand finals in a row. (we might lose every year but we get there )

I think Wigan and Wire fans will always "stick there head in the sand" as far as Saints achievements go. Is it not 9 grand finals now, topped up with 7 challenge cups and 7 league leaders, thats some achievement in this era of full time professional players. This is not arrogance its just plain fact.......Well done Saints for this seasons achievements in an injury ravaged season.

Yes it is a fantastic achievement. Most teams would settle for that.
Others teams have had injuries this season as well you know.

Everyteam gets injuries in a season, I'd like to see some stats but I reccon we've had most first team injuries in the league this season. Couple that to the Ea$tmond fiasco and we've done very very well

We didn't have the luxury of having the best young players in the world like Wigan to bring in or the three storm players from nrl.
I think we did pretty well with a old, over the hill, to slow, 2nd rate team thaw not played home at all this year

Yes Saints have coped very well and looking at the bigger picture the emergence of Lomax and Gaskell is a big bonus and might not have happened had Pryce not been injured and Eastmond not been such a big wuss.
There was an interesting stat on the Wigan board a while ago showing that Wigan have suffered more injuries than Saints including first choice players Fielden and Roberts out all season and Gleeson having to be released for personal reasons. Not complaining though because injuries do occur and it is a squad game.

Fair enough , I think it also matters where you get your injuries though.
As for Wigan, Gleeson getting the boot was a club call, Roberts as far as I know has been playing in the reserves and Fielden has been our Perry.

They were still three first choice players at the start of the season. Roberts has played intermittently in the reserves to try and get fit but eventually had to go back under the knife. He was one of the stand out players in the SL until his unfortunate injury.

Because he wasn't fully fit with what could turn out to be a career ending injury!
