| I don't have a problem with refs getting it wrong in the heat of the moment. The offside rule needs to be made simple so that players and refs and fans understand it: a kicker can play everyone on side.
It's the video refs that make me despair. It seemed so obvious that Gidley was short but it never entered his head, and the Saints no-try was beyond understanding. They are watching what we are watching but see things no one else does. I sometimes wonder if they watch for the players reaction, and the Saints player wasn't exactly celebrating.

| I can handle the Lyneham try, none of the players reacted, I fully understand why it was given, what did my head in was the blatant knock on in the set of 6 before that when Thaler saw it and actually put the whistle to his mouth but decided to ignore it.

| Quote ="The Reaper"Well the glaring hole in this argument is that the ball was never collected by any Warrington player and Luke Walsh never made a tackle... It bounced and Walsh knocked it back. He was given offside from his own kick. Think about it.
All I can say about this game really is that it's really no surprise that hardly anybody watches Rugby any more. Shambles. Warrington will likely lift the trophy next week in front of the worst ever GF crowd just like Hull did in the CC and the RFL will tout it as a success because they're morons. People watch games last night (and they happen on an almost weekly basis) and know that this sport has absolutely zero modicum of professionalism and won't bother watching again. I'm not sure I will either.
I usually hate to blame the referee and mock people that do, but there's no way I could give my thoughts on the game without doing so. We were robbed. I was sick watching it in the stadium last night and was sicker watching it back on Sky this morning.
Not buying this Warrington were the better team' nonsense either. Over the season, yes. Last night, no. All 3 of their tries came off the back of 2 consecutive penalties. The first two on the back of wrong decision penalties (and a questionable at best grounding) and their 3rd simply wasn't a try. If they were so much better than us then why did they need so much help to get through our (top notch) defence? We broke their line more than they broke ours and scored the most expansive try on the night. But apparently we were dominated and playing negative rugby all night. Rugby fans are laughable in their narratives.
Oh well, here is to another average year of dwindling attendances and viewing figures and even worse next year. Somebody needs to challenge the RFL on a serious level because they are letting this game die.'"

| Regarding the Lineham try I don't think the ref can be blamed. Stood at that end last night I didn't hear one Saints supporter complain of a no try.

When you use video depending on speed you see different things, the Lineham try both Thaler & the touch judge had no doubt,
Amazing how the T.J. had no doubt when he was at least 3 yards down the line

| They know they didn't get a clean kill last night, hence the idiotic trolling and somehow trying to justify awful decisions. Whether they like it or not, the whole rugby league community knows that wasn't right last night. It's frustrating that instead of everyone talking about a great Warrington performance, they're talking about how it was incompetent officiating that has got them a place in the final.
Troll all you like. If you can win next week, you might just overtake Widnes as the most successful club in Cheshire.

| The game changer was Luke Walsh not kicking on 5th and us turning the ball over, then giving a pen away which leads to a try.
Instead of Warrington bringing the ball back out of their own 20 meter zone, they was in ours.
The whole momentum of the game changed when Walsh failed to kick and put us under pressure.
Crazy thing is, we was kicking all night on 3rd and 4th tackle but tried to run it on 5th!
Yes the video ref probably got the call wrong and Lineham probably didn't score but let's not use that as a excuse as our attack was utter rubbish again. One up rugby again and kicking all the time. It's like watching union.
The end of the day, it was our boring no thrills one up rugby that cost us.

We've struggled in the halves for about 5 years at this club. We need two settled halves that have the right balance.
We thought Walsh was the answer but his horrific injury put that to bed as we wouid all agree, he's never been the same since.
Travis Burns looked like the final piece in the puzzle but that didn't work either as him and Walsh didn't have the right balance we thought it would. I think Burns lost that yard of pace in his first pre season with us and that killed him.
We've had make shift halves for far to long. We've had Wilkin, Wello, Flanagan, fages, Turner, Walsh etc over the last few years.
Imo our pack is decent and Douglas will add to a good set of props with amor, Walmsley, Thompson and Richards as back up. We defo lack backrow.

| I don't see the link between Warrington and the referee's performance. The ref was incredibly bad, making several crucial decisions and getting them all wrong. This was then compounded by the video referee making another mistake. But none of that is Warrington's fault and I personally hope they win the final. I don't want to see Benny Flower parading round OT, with the muppets on Sky proclaiming some heroic redemption story.

Nobody blamed Warrington. People blamed the officials, and when we all calmed down a bit, we blamed our negative, grind the opposition down tactics.
What's happened on this board is a load of opposition fans gloating and a few of us (I put myself in that bracket) giving it right back. That's what happens on forums, in the stands, in pub, in work etc.
As a neutral who dislikes both clubs, I think defence will win the day and Wigan will snuff them out on Sat.

I think Warrington will win comfortably. Wane is leaving Wigan if the rumours are true and I don't see them putting up much of a fight withouth O'Loughlin and McIllorum.
