Still not sure what your point is? Last year, Wane chased the LLS, won it, but didn't have enough left in the tank to win the GF.
This year, he has won both the important finals. Whether that was pure luck, or expert planning, we will never know.
What is fact though, is that Leeds won it, and Wigan have won it. Neither team finished top after the preliminary rounds. That is how the league has been constructed, and however bitter you may be, what's really important is who gets to employ an engraver and buy some brasso.

Hahaha not bitter at all. I couldn't give a **** who wins it. I only care if saints won it so makes no odds if you or Warrington win as I don't like either of them.
My point is, you lot last year spouted how Wigan was the best team because you finished top and how Leeds are disgrace picking and choosing games to win (I don't think they did) and now you lot are totally contradicting yourselves as you have won it from fourth.

Giving up a 5 point lead in the league probably does show that Wane decided to be clever about his team decision this time as Leeds did last season. But anybody who wants to believe huddersfield are a better team than wigan or warrington are welcome to their opinion. how many times have we finished the top since 2010?

Or maybe the fact that Wigan,s Leader and main strike player was missing during that period of 5 point surrender. I beliieve with O'Loughlin and Tomkins missing then Wigan would be no better than Huddersfield and Warrington.
Mr Wane doesn,t like to lose any game so I very much doubt he had a tactical plan to win the play offs from a lower position,

| yes they was injured but last season you can guarantee they would of played through it. by the way didn't we beat huddersfield and leeds with out O'loughlin. Be all and end all wigan won the double and 100 percent didn't go all out for the league leaders and anybody who thinks they did are kidding them selves.

| The fact is wigan fans have double standards.
Last year leeds title didn't count and was hollow because they won it from 5th.
However this year, wigan won it from 4th and it does count, it's evidence of the greatest sporting institution on the planet, an unbelievable achievment, true champions blah blah blah.
Fact is by discrediting leeds title win last year, they have also discredited their own this year. Can't have it both ways. If you went on their forum, went back a year and dredged up some of the threads and quotes, guess what would happen? You would probably be banned as a troll, because they would look like idiots.
It's similiar to how fans used to treat the WCC. Someone else wins it and the aussies don't give a crap. It's a pre season friendly. Your teams wins it and it's further evidence of the superior place in the world game.

Traces of arrogance here, most of my mates are Wigan Fans and don,t have the same viewpoint as you, I.m assuming you,ve heard about the change in effort to try and win the league from the man himself Mr Wane, or maybe its a mental adjustment in failing to do the treble..........

no its very easy and clear to see wigan's attitude in the plays off was far different from the one closing out the season, anybody trying to say otherwise is kidding them selves.

still stand by that, when all teams are playing at a high intensity the league is harder to win than the grand final. Just Wigan and Warrington rotated all season and not going all out for the league leaders unlike previous seasons, ironically i think leeds tried a lot harder in the league this season than in the previous 2.

The same reasons which you used to rubbish leeds title last year could be used to rubbish wigan's title this year.
The argument is all bollox. It's playground logic. A title, is a title, is a title. You might as well argue wigan's title in 1998 was hollow because bradford were sh*t, saints were sh*t, and leeds, the only decent challenger hadn't won a title in nearly 30 years so were inexperienced, so wigan won by default.......hollow title!!
Wigan fans are bad losers, but even worse winners.

winning in the playoffs is much harder when you don't rotate your players. Wigan and warrington took the easy option this year.
In 2011 and 2012 leeds didn't rotate and played more games than anyone with CC finals and the WCC. The title wins in 2011 and 2012 were therfore superior because they didn't bottle it and rotate players.
Our titles better!

Much better, our titles were more like a triple triple in 2006.
Challenge Cup
League Leaders Shield
Superleague Champions
Lance Todd Trophy Winner
Harry Sunderland Trophy Winner
Man of Steel Winner
BBC Sports Team of the Year
BBC Sports Coach of the Year
World Club Champions (Afterwards)
Obviously this year the standard of rugby league is so much better and Wigan,s double is far superior to the above.

| Does anybody seriously believe Huddersfield would have finished top in a first past the post system? Course they wouldn't.
Last season, Wane treated it as such. He had the team go flat out in every game and it backfired when it mattered. I think a few clubs have (finally) woken up and learnt what Leeds have known for a few years - finishing top means jack if you don't lift the big one.

No wonder all my pie eating mates don't buy season tickets as it's been made pretty clear on this thread that your season only starts for real in September. I don't blame you lot for not buying season tickets then.
Obviously with wigans way of thinking it's better to just pay on challenge cup days and play off times, it will be cheaper and more enjoyable.

It is harder to be the best over 27 rounds (when all teams are trying) than to win the Grand Final although a tad bit of luck does come into the play offs.

I don,t think it will have any value to third parties until some other team emulates it. Saints won the League Leaders Shield 3 or 4 years on the trot and it became known as the hub cap. Recently Warrington and Huddersfield have won it and now its increased in market value.
Our triple triple is factual and is just an indicator that the 2006 team dominated every avenue of rugby league that season and is a proud moment in our history.

There are only three pots available each year. Hudds won one of them, which is tremendous for a club that has won jack for decades. If clubs concentrate on getting to the gf at the expense of winning the hubcap, that is surely good for another club to lift some silverware? Maybe saints realistically should target the hubcap next season at the expense of the gf? How long is it since we had the silver polish out?
