Has anyone mentioned that m sadler was on radio humberside suggesting that fc or rovers(both without Scrum halfs) get eastmond on loan for the rest of the year as aparently SH would like rid and bath dont want him till season end ??

Him leaving now would correspond with Pryce being fit enough to play.

It's possible that the club have delayed this decision to a) negotiate a fee for release or b) to ensure that we have at least one halfback on the pitch with more than 4 games experience.

In both cases Eastmond may well have hoped the deal would be finalised last week, doesn't mean it was him delaying it. He's kept fairly quiet on the whole subject (certainly moreso than Cunningham did all those years back) and all the talking has been by the club, who are going to paint the situation in their favour.

Apparently Stevo has claimed in his column in the League Express this morning that Saints are set to announce the signing of an 'overseas international halfback' as a replacement for Kyle. Pinch of salt methinks, but it would be nice.

Interesting. Knowing Stevo it could be 110% fabrication, but it wouldn't surprise me if behind the scenes Kyle let the club know he'd be leaving possibly from the day he signed his last deal.

Now on Saints website. I think this is the clearest indication yet that he doesn't have a future in TGG.

Don't be daft. You don't get dropped from an international squad based on your first three games back after a semi long term injury.

I'd expect the announcement today based on that.

Given that it was publicised that McNamara spoke to Eastmond some time ago, this would suggest that it has been known for some time that he will not be with us next season.

If we're honest with ourselves we've known this would play out since he signed his last deal. I'm sure we have contingency plans for his departure.
