We haven't scored more than 18 points in a games since the quins match last July this must be the lowest scoring saints team in a long while.

The 17 that started last night was good enough to beat hull and beat them pretty easy.

It seems obvious the team ain't willing to play for potter as was the case last season.

The saints board made a big mistake in bringing potter but they can't leave it to long in getting shut or this season we be a complete waste of time.

What really drives me mad is he won't change anything in the game. When we went 3 scores down we should have moved roby inside and got wheeler inside as they are two of our very few players that can attack!

No plan A and no plan B.

Roby should never have been put on the wing in the first place, he is one of our creative players and Potter sticks him on the wing, where he won't get the ball !

I must admit i had to do a double take when i saw Roby on the wing. Your style of play has changed dramatically in the space of 12 months and the only person who can be responsible for that is the coach.
When you think of saints you think of free flowing rugby, but there has been none of that on display for a long time.

I'd have basil back in a heartbeat over this boring 2nd rate potter.

At least we would try and attack under basil and would be better to watch than this boring brand of crap rugby potter has got us playing.

I'd rather loose 52-38 under basil than 30-12 under potter. We aint scored over 15 points since july 2009!!!!!

Not so sure that's the case. Hull's pack had 3 former kangaroos in it so were never going to be pushovers.

saints lack leadership and direction. As much as eastmond is a fine talent he doesn't look to be an organiser to me. The need to accomodate 3 hookers will also hamper you.

Most telling thing for me was potter's half time team talk - looked like everyone was ignoring him

They had 3 FORMER kangaroos counts for nothing mate. We have international and former internatinal players all over the field.

We have a few former of those too. The difference is, Hull's are huge and ours are not.


I agree with both of those but the real problem in that respect was that Pryce didn't stand up and take control. He needs another court case hanging over his head: that's good motivation for him.


I noticed this last season. Our play would actually worsen in the second half and it happened again last night. Far from motivating the team, his half time rantings seem to have the opposite effect.

Our season no more ended last night than Leeds' did on Friday.

I'll wait for a game played in normal conditions where we don't lose 4 players to injury before knee jerking!

Its the injuries that worry me most, our conditioning seems appauling

take on board what he is saying guys, one match does not a season win!! you have been the yardstick to beat for as long as i can remember and your now going to experience what we have for the last two years , a club in transition with some injuries, its not pretty but all part of professional sport..

In theory you are quite right and I certainly agree with the sentiment, however in perspective I believe those who booed, and I was not amongst them, did so based on the level of performance & heart shown by the team. Not that I am condoning it.

what a good idea, give a man with no coaching experience the job who is a legend in St Helens and watch him become another to blame!!
