You mean if you are linked to them via ter and FB?
Over 50's techno phobe don't count then?
Just checked the saints FB site and there is nothing there to say the shop is closed from 4pm - have you a link mr lump?
In fact the fb page is full of people like me complaining about the shop/season ticket collection etc.
What's wrong with a simple notice on the shop website (or even on the shop flippin' door for gods sake)?
Also, did the club tell its fb and twitter friends that no tickets could be collected until monday? It's frankly very poor and worries me for the future.
If we carry on like this we are going to have big problems.
Today - they just decided they wouldn't answer the phones. If they can't spare the staff because of the move to the ground, why not leave some info on a pre-recorded message - simples?

| Quote ="SaintsFan"Yes, but the problem with Saints is that they think everybody is on Twitter and Facebook but they aren't. There are a lot of people who are on neither.
I can't see any reference to this on the Saints website and nothing was in the Star on Thursday about it. Saints should have communicated via paper, their own website and with a notice in the shop window all last week so that people could tell those they knew.
Poor by Saints this is.'"
It's very poor and very typical to be honest.
Am I right in thinking the saints town centre shop was shut today due to moving stuff to our new shop at langtree park?

Not good enough is it. I don,t bother with Facebook and twitter and travelled the way down from Cumbria yesterday not knowing the shop was early closing.
Luckily arrived around 3-00pm so got my season ticket. Would have been miffed he I missed the ground opening.
Seems as though there's a staff shortage to handle the transition between town and ground, it was the same when we played at Widnes on match day think the shop closed earlier around 3-30pm.
The club need to go up a few notches on communication, let's hope they get more organised in 2012.

| I agree that there should have been a news story on the website and a sign on the door (it's ridiculous to think that they didn't put a sign on the door. Perhaps the club has fallen into the trap of thinking everyone is online and those who are are on Twitter.
There was a message on Twitter about the tickets.

I use Tweetdeck to look at both and usually the same links or comments are posted on both at the same time, so no I don't have a link, it may well have been just on Twitter then.

| stuff like this is just frustrating. The club should have sat down and gone for a completely fresh start - removed all the nonsense and excuses that have gone before for poor customer service, lack of communication and a couldn't care less attitude.
There is no excuse for not communicating with fans through the website, and in the local paper, at the very least.
It shouldn't take much to get a proper management team in to run sales, marketing, communication, merchandise etc....and I am amazed that a business man such as Eamonn McManus is prepared to let the business side of the club be run like it is.

The 'business' side probably isn't run like this. The corporate stuff is probably bob on. It's communication with the fanbase that is poor.

It seems it's not only me that thinks certain things at saints isnt up to scratch. The seems to be few pages on how crap certain aspects of the club is run.
I hope pinner had a good look around the stadium last Friday so he can tell the unfortunate ones who didn't get their tickets just how good the stadium is

But when you move house it's normal to leave a forwarding address and new telephone number.
It's been poorly managed.

I would have thought it would make sense to move while doing their best not to lose the Xmas trade?

It's very poorly managed and I'd say is costing the club Money in lost Xmas trade.
If i run my business like that I'd be bust in 12 month.

Saints have been moving house for 18 months now. They've known this has been on the cards for a long time. Moving to Widnes was one thing; moving to our own stadium should be managed better given the experiences of Widnes AND that it is the big one, the real move.
To not advise as many fans as possible about the split between services (tickets and merchandise) at different locations is very poor, and there really is no excuse for that.

I think I agree. We should be giving the club a bit more slack, in my opinion the transition to the new stadium and moving shop is a bigger task than expected, i reckon they are under staffed at the moment.
OK some season tickets have not arrived but you don,t need them until February so why panic, the "Friday Night Event" was forced upon them by the council, so a few people missed out. Let the club just get on with it, they have probably realised there is a shortfall in communications to the fans, just give them a few months slack. If the problems are there at the start of the season.....Then Complain.

If its for tickets you need the stadium shop, if it's for a full range of the new branded sports wear its the stadium shop.
The sooner the town shop closes the better, it's one less frustration to deal with.

the fanbase is the club's customer base, not just some bottomless pit of money and loyalty to be taken for granted.
Proper customer communication is not difficult.

when do the excuses end?
for years the excuses for poor communication and treatment of fans was that KR was holding them back from doing what they wanted to do.
then we have had 18 months of being at Widnes, which was holding them back from doing what they wanted to do.
now, we are moving, which is holding them back from what they want to do.
It is not difficult to put something on the website, and email people, and write to people, and put something in the local press explaining what is going on and what times/dates things will be available, and where from.

Found out on Twitter today that Mike Appleton has been on holiday all week so that may well explain why communication between club and fans has completely broken down! That and the transfer to the new server at Langtree Park.
