Yup, we know that.



It began life as a footbridge and became a road bridge when the stipulation was made for emergency access. I assume it's still going to carry foot traffic as well as emergency vehicles. I just don't know where the bridge was due to start from on the town side of the linkway.

It was designed and built with the new stadium in mind, as the planned bridge over the linkway goes nearby.
The plan is that spectators travelling from the town centre will walk over the canal bridge and over the bridge across the linkway to the new stadium.

It also is an emergency vehicle route for the new chamber of commerce building. As such an access route was made from the linkway to this bridge that is wide enough for a fire engine.

The Wigan name is well used to being walked all over

Seating on the sides standing on the ends, the pop side will therefore, effectively move to behind the sticks.

You've got to hope so.
This is a hell of an ask to get this ready for the start of the 2011 season.
Otherwise we'll be moving mid season.
