They don't need to be angry. They just have a certain hormone in them.
And tactics are exactly what Saddened was talking about.
Royce Simmons' tactics today were superb.
Given that Hoffman is from the Storm, I can well imagine what [ihis[/i tactics were all about.

I agree, royce had his tactics near spot on today. I thought jammer or Tony p or even both should have been on for the start of the 2nd half.
We needed all our big guns out there as we needed to weather the Wigan storm just after halftime.
I can also see why he had them off, he wanted the big men to have the extended rest at halftime.
I just think we should have had all our big guns on reDy for Wigan who we knew wound throw everything at us just after halftime.

I played league for 18 years and I wouldn't say I'm an angry man. Then again I got nowhere near a respectable level so maybe that was the problem.

I disagree. In order for the big guns to be effective, they had to have a breather. At least one of them was playing on injections anyway (Jammer). It was better to let things slide at the start of the first half because that gave us chance to come back at them. Getting a lead only to be holding on without our most forceful and experienced players on the pitch would have probably opened the floodgates.

In fact, I strongly disagree! IMO Tony p and jammer or both should have come back on at halftime. IMO them 15 mins of the 2nd half was so important to saints.
And looking back, them 15 mins cost us the game.

No no no, Having 2 players out of contention for the 2nd half cost us the game, having several injuries before the game cost us the game. Wigan did not have a look of scoring until our half back was taken out. Our final choice 13 where hammering their starting choice 13.
We were immense and there is nothing more to be said on the matter, or I shall declare shennanigins and fetch my broom.

So you are saying they should have played the full 40? Or do you think that miraculously we would have been better in defence and attack for the final 15 minutes than we were in the first 15 of that second half?

Never once said they should play the full 40. I'm saying our strongest 13 should have come out for the 2nd half.

Then you are saying they should have played for the full 40! If you're not then you are saying we should have been playing without them for a spell of 15 minutes elsewhere in the second half. If you're saying the latter, then what makes you think that the guys left on the pitch when they went off would have been any more effective in defence later in the half than they were straight after halftime?

Hes saying that having the more experienced players on after half time may well of halted the Wigan momentum

I know he is saying that. But does he also think that if Simmons had then taken off the big men later, which he might have had to do because they would have been knackered, the team left on the pitch would have stemmed the tide any better than they did during that initial 15 minute spell in the second half? Because they would have had to do so. I'd be interested to know how he would know that the same group of people who couldn't stem the flow in the first 15 minutes of the second half could then go on to do it at a later time in the match, when a comeback would be impossible due to the clock ticking down.

| What I didn't understand was after you went two points up and Richards kicked out on the full, why did you tap the ball?
Why not kick it onto touch (or go for goal) and eat the clock up.
Very poor captaincy.

I thought they would have gone for the two after seeing Foster taking a few shots from the same point in the pre match warm up.

Listen sweetheart, when you go in against any team at halftime with a slender lead the coach will always tell you that the next 15/20 mins is where this game will be won or lost, they will come out at halftime on fire and we need to put that fire out. We need to weather this storm for the 15/20 mins and it will sicken them! This next 20 will be massive!
I've been in many of teams with that type of team talk.
If we'd had started that 2nd half how we started the game I'd put my house on a saints win.
I'm not getting at you flower but that's how I see it and I feel the 20 mins of the 2nd half cost us the game.

We should have put the ball in touch which would have give us better field position and wasted some time.

I think they were being cautious as with us having our first 4 or so kickers out they were concerned they wouldn't reach touch.

I'm pretty sure foster could have found touch but I agree I think we was concerned we'd not find touch and give the pies the ball.

As I said I didn't understand that decision and the captain must take the blame.
Saints Fan probably thinks they should have passed the ball to Wigan.
Does she know anything about the real game?
I sometimes get embarrassed at her posts.
I've asked her again has she watched the recording of todays game.
