Nonsense. When Potter was signed he came with a better record than Millward. The latter turned a second division side into an almost first division one. The former did it with a French side that had been written off.

Simmons had a top record for working with kids. Which is precisely what we had. And he almost pulled it off.

Royce appears to be rather prone to making as many errors as his team at present. I rather think the whole set up has gone a bit wrong.

Exactly what I've been saying for a month now, I even started a thread saying we need fresh ideas and a whole shake up on the coaching side.

The players should take some of the responsibility but the ultimate blame for such poor start is down to Royce and his staff.

Every desicion they have made from recruitment, rotation, no pre season games, a over long rest wgen other teams was doing pre season has caught up with us.

I said all last year he's not a first team coach and the injuries was a blessing in disguise for him as he didn't have to pick a team and basically we just went out and played.

The biggest worry of mine, he will have set us back years. The recruitment he's made is a disaster and god help the nex t coach who's got to sort out this mess.

I'm just sad, I knew a slump was coming, all teams after time at the top go through a slump, but I really thought that the last few years was our slump, going down in performance and ability, but still just about holding our own.

But it seams I mis-judged the last few years, far from being our slump, it was infact the sunset of a once great team that probably did not bring in as many trophies as it could have due to being up against a Leeds team of better quality and legs in the right positions.

I'm just thankful that I will miss what maybe a very ugly couple of weeks, with fans turning on the coach and chants at the ground. Until now this has mostly been kept to internet forums and I would say 25% of early starters who always start early with the doom and gloom, but now it could hit the masses.

I still think we will not get anyone new before Easter Monday but removal may happen earlier than that. MacManus cares about this club deeply and as much as sacking a coach will cost money, not having half the season tickets next year compared to this will cost him and the club even more.

The only reason Royce is bringing a back off the bench late in the game is to stop all us fans moaning that we are only playing with 16 men.

I'd strongly advise you Saints fans to stick together here as numerous Rhinos fans wanted shut of Brian Mac last season, but look how our season panned out

The thing is though you had reason to start poorly. Key players in McGuire and Peacock missing from the start of the season for a number of weeks along with others. We didn't have that excuse, until the last couple of games we've been virtually fully fit.

I don't think it will come to that tbh at least not to that extent! I do agree that there are major concerns, I'm not so sure sacking Royce will provide a solution because I believe it is the players that are letting us (& themselves) down not necessarily the coaching, however sport will always look for an individual scapegoat and it may come to that over the next 3 games.

The reality is we stick with him to see if he can turn things around. If he cant, he goes at the end of the season, and we bring in a replacement.

This is where McManus will be tested on how good a Chief Exec he is. It is a lot easier to run a club when your team is winning trophies and getting to finals. The real skill is when you get a bad run and the work you do behind the scenes supporting your Coach and his players so that [size=150they[/size can get things back on track and start winning games again.

In truth all you club is going through is a bad spell, all teams go though it and how McManus deals with this bad spell will shape the rest of your season. Sacking Royce Simmons is not the answer to your current difficulties & would further put back your return to the top 4 of Super League.

For me the responsibility for our present demise rests largely with our senior players; for example - Puletua dropping the ball with the tryline ahead of him; Perry giving away penalties at crucial moments; Wilkin kicking hopelessly and really doing precious little else in attack; Meli being thoroughly lazy; the forwards generally leaving the backs to act like forwards, etc, etc. Only Wello stepped up tonight. He had a blinder of a game. Shamed all the other senior players.

Wello was best player on the pitch by a mile.
