Theres no doubting Farrell was a very good player, the reason we disliked him so much was because he played at Wigan, if he had played for pretty much anyone else there would be many more admitting he was a class player. Better than Scully though? Nope, don't think so.

Who are you trying to convince, us or yourself? Just because he is the youngest forward to captain GB wouldn't necessarily make him a better player.

Scott Moore was (maybe still is?) the youngest player to play in Super League, doesn't make him the best.

As I have just said, which you quite noticeably dodged. Faz Moved to Rugby union in a quite high profile move, we all know Union has the more high profile coverage, it was on text about Lewsey retiring for god's sake!
As for your point about the Golden Boot, James Graham has just been named the World's best prop, therefore I suppose you are in agreement with this too?

For what its worth I would go against most Saints Fans and say that I believe Faz was the better player, however I would also say your reasons of he won the Golden Boot, or he had more media coverage dont really carry much weight to your argument.

its like saying that paul anderson is the greatest ever goal kicker in rugby history in either code as he never missed a goal! Points scored esp. when scully wasnt our goal kicker is of little consequence. Scully usually scored more tries in a season and farrell more meters, in my veiw farrell was a prop, scully a more creative loose, hence scully averaging 4x as many kicks in general play, but farrell more offloads. Your argument over points scored is daft, using that logic danny tickle is currently the best forward in superleague

farrell would take scully to the cleaners! the only department id have scully over faz is his ability to playmake- faz was more of the nitty gritty player who britain, wigan, and rugby league have missed since the day he left for union. Faz was also a much better leader than sculthorpe!

Not having a dig at sculthorpe, he was an absolutely amazing player but i do not think he was in the same league as farrell.

And yes, In my opinion faz deserves to be up there with hanley and murphy- on the mere fact that he carried wigan rl for 15 years! and also his honours prove that he deserves to be up there with this standard of players.

Id say scully was a notch down from the likes of faz, hanley and murphy

All in all it was a pleasure to watch these two in action against each other and when playing each other! I will always remember that fight at knowsley road between faz and scully!

pity the rest of the gb team could not live up to the levels set by andy farrell and paul sculthorpe
