He was about as fit as a chain smoking, obese grandad then though!
I have a feeling he'll have a strong finish to the season.

So it suited him to take the weight on his shoulders
I think he may of recognised some of the criticisms of last week in himself in letting the other guys do the bulk, and didn't have them around this week to do so. He was definitely one of the players unrecognisable from last week.
As has been said he was looking for the ball at every opportunity, I never noticed him behind the defensive line etc - don't wanna wax lyrical too much (stats tend to show the opposite of what I see!) as I may of been brainwashed by Eddie and Stevo (who were waxing lyrical about him) but i was very happy with his performance today. Long may it continue/ be a turning point for him personally

Yeah he has. But to be fair to the man he was excellent tonight. As mentioned he took the first four tackles and when he was on was always hunting the tackle and looking for work. He was second to Roby as man of the match tonight. I have no doubt when his stats come out that he'll top 100m with an 8 or 9 metres per carry and 15 tackles Couple of offloads as well and always attracted four men to put him down.
It's all about fitness for Mose. He's clearly far fitter than when he started the season and that allowed him to be more forceful with the work he did. Give him another couple of months without injury and I bet he'll be ripping in.
Whole team was better tonight, clearly realised it was probably Brown's job on the line tonight and they did respond. So noticable how much more up for it they all were this week, Mose and LMS's urgency from the kick off was telling. Still not a great performance however, virtually all their points were very, very sloppy and there were again too many of them scored. Roby was outstanding, Mose probably second and Flanagan or Dawson third, both had decent outings.

Thought Flanaghan was one of our worst tonight if I'm honest :s always seems to be tackled dead and kill any momentum - potentially had a fair shift defensively, but he was bumped off by Crabtree a couple of times.

He's a strange shape I think. Seems to have little body and long long legs. I don't mind Dawson as a squad player tbh. He does decent job but is a little suspect in defence at times.

| I ended up going tonight after saying i woul'dnt and made up we won but once again Turner, LMS and Walker have done nothing! People criticize Masoe. You will never see Walker or LMS ever have a better game than Mose did tonight.

Turner did everything asked of him - granted not much, but hardly a performance I'd call him out for - he kept wardle quiet which we haven't done for a while. Lms was good without being great, still room for improvement. Walker had a poor first stint, and I was prepared to start writing him off, but was poking his nose through in his second stint, and generally did alright.

He was superb tonight. Worked hard attracted 3/4 defenders if not more everytime and made good yards. Came up with some good offloads and attracted quite a few penalties.
Exactly what we ask of him and his try plus MOM was fully deserved.

| Masoe had a very good game for us. Even more impressive that it was against a big pack. He dominated that early exchange - alongside soliola who I thought was very good and looked back to his best early on.
Hopefully he's turned a corner now as he hasn't played well at all previously.
I though Walsh showed his class tonight. He really is a special player and controlled the game. Roby had a big game too and was very influential. Not surprising when the forwards play well, our classy players do too...funny that.

I said something similar tonight too mate about Roby and him being allowed to do what he does best when other people do their jobs properly. He was very very good tonight.

| I mainly read and don't post on here. A few where saying Mosey is here on holiday etc etc. I happened to drive past my old school feild, Cowley feild on Tuesday approx 4pm. All alone, and I mean alone, was Mossy just jogging about. I believe he is still overweight and he is putting in the hours to shift the extra timber.

| Mose was good, very good indeed tonight.
I'm not a hater and I think he's had to play long minutes one to get his fitness up but 2 because of the lack of Amor.
So I've been quite happy with him doing the grunt work. Tonight I think there was a touch of aggression and fierceness about him. And it made a difference. He was hard in running and hard in the tackle too, even covering for others who let plays go on occasion. Was a clear MOM, as he took on that Huddersfield pack and won.
It was certainly a better attitude this week, but we fluffed the defensive effort on occasion, simply by switching off.
I like Dawson, I know some will not buy into him as he is not a big name and not a St Helens boy, but he makes breaks every match. He makes chances and you need that. Wheeler was also decent too.
Walker I'm not so sure about, was impressed with him last year, but I don't think he will shift one of the props who are injured. Greenwood looked better coming on from the bench rather than doing a full 80.
Lance was good, he has been most of this year.
Walsh was good too, although he did seem to get a bit distracted trying to get one over on Brough with the short kick off. A case of I can do it too, but he didn't.
Wellens looked alot more comfortable at FB. It's a bit of a quandry what to do with him. He's a FB not a pack player, we need him but just have no where to play him.
Roby was good too, the rest where so so for me. Neither amazing nor poor. We just did not have that killer punch at 18 - 0 and kept giving hope to huddersfield through our sloppy play, but it did start to bucket it down after 18 - 0.
Thought Ferres had a few cheap shots tonight, did not expect that from him.
Brough lost it tonight, but second half showed some nice touches. Not sure what's happened to the big pack at Huddersfield was expecting them to come rough us up. But after 10 minutes of Mose tearing into them, they seemed to lose all their fight.
A good win and much better attitude. Gives us some breathing space to get some bodies back, but we need to see them all wanting to be a bit more aggressive. Not stupidly so, but with that little bit of extra effort that you are at least going to try and push through.

It's that 'broken foot' thing. According to Nathan Brown he has a broken foot. Let's just hope it's less of a broken foot than Turner had as I think he is one of if not the best of our young forwards (Greenwood also looking very good).
I went to the match tonight and I have watched it back because although we were far from perfect, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a similar Saints to the Saints I saw in the early part of the season, and I include the little kick that didn't quite come off for Walsh which shadows thinks was Walsh trying to score points against Brough (bit of a daft thing to suggest really). I like it that we have a halfback willing (and often capable) of mixing it up and trying things out. That way he remains edgy and the opposition will find him difficult. I love watching Walsh play when our forwards allow him to, as they did tonight.
Particularly Mosoe. He was wonderful. If he is still learning, as he said he was in his Sky MoM interview, then we are in for a treat once he's got to grips with his role. He was knackered by the end of that match but he worked really hard and all his offloads were class. We were all singing his name in the West Stand. What a treat. Our impact forward dropped noticably when he went off.
Roby looked like the old Roby - at last! He was zipping around all over the place. Great to see.
I don't know what has happened to Soliola because although his first half was pretty good he was back to his relatively invisible self in the second. Shame really as he has been so good for us previously and we need him to up his game while we are short on forward punch.
Wellens has to play full games, somewhere. His leadership is invaluable to us.
Although we still made some unbelievably dumb errors and our goal line defence is useless, I really enjoyed the match tonight. We scored some lovely tries and our commitment was back to its early season form.
The test now comes to see whether we can replicate it as a minimum for a second consecutive week, preferably improving on areas where we are still clearly lacking.
