| Quote ="Cragganmore Kid"I'm starting to think we have some of the most ridiculous fans in the league.
Firstly, after a sensational performance at HJ - meaning we have won twice where everyone else in the league has failed - I returned to the board to find a couple of rare posts celebrating the win, outnumbered considerably by 3 and 4 page threads criticising the usual scapegoats. Othser boards would be full of threads rejoicing in a hammering of their local rivals, cup winners and many people's favourites for the title. Not us.
And now this. If you are seriously wanting your team to miss out on Final day, give it up. Just give it up.
100% I want Saints to get there. 100% I'll be there cheering them on. And, despite the result, I'll 100% want to be there again next year.
As has been said, god help some of you if you'd been around in the 80s...'"
Well said.

| Not every team can start winning major finals as soon as they get to them like Wire did, you guys need to keep getting there and getting experience in the cauldron of the big occasion and one day you will have a bit of luck go your way and it could be the confidence boost you need to start becoming a side that wins trophies like us.

Nice try...............................you can only watch Back to the Future so many times, then you start to believe you were there and no one will convince you otherwise.

No matter how many times we lose the Grand Final I would still go and watch them in every Grand Final they get to because they are the team I support through thick and thin. Take the rough with the smooth, and as previously mentioned we have been spoilt with the success we have had in the Super League Era and we are having a baron spell in terms of silverwear... does that mean I should not go and watch them in any final they make it to?
The answer to that is NO... at the end of the day I'm a Saints fan and now matter how ace or how badly we are playing I will always support them and will always want to go to the Grand Final when we are there.

To be fair I reckon our sales would have decreased each year even if we'd won them all - getting to the final every year will naturally make the event less exciting each time you do it whatever the result. A few years away from the final would do a lot to reinvigorate the fans and bring the hunger back.

| who says the final will be between saints or the pies or the semi saints v wire. i reckon leeds will do catalans and wire might just scrape a win over hull.
will the pies pick leeds who did them in the CC and lets face it are still the champions or will they pick the wire.
hard decisions to be made, and for me i can see a saints v wires final. do i want saints to get to the GF though and possibly lose again. OF COURSE i do. every year all the other teams not at OT would swap places with the 2 teams to be there. one day we will win it again.why not this year!!!
and if not this year then maybe next, but win it again we will.

If we get there and I could go then I still would. Even though spending 150 quid and a precious day off work on a 5 hour roundtrip in the pouring rain to sit in that cripplingly uncomfortable monument to pure evil to watch our tedious and one-dimensional team haplessly lose yet another final (and to Wigan too) and then get to sit in a traffic jam for 90 minutes afterwards soaked to the skin is the absolute very last thing in the entire fabric of reality that I would ever want to do. I'd still be going though as, as a Saints fan, I'd have no choice. Luckily this year I am spared from further punishment

Actually, if Leeds do beat Cats (I have the feeling in my water that they won't this year though) then I think Wigan are a little knackered as I'd take either Leeds or Wire to do them at the Piedome. I think they'll still pick Leeds or Cats over Wire every day of the week however.

It seems to me your feelings seem more wishful ones than anything else, you seem to be almost daring Wigan to take on Wire (if they are in the mix)rather than the seemingly easier bouts with Leeds or the Cats thus removing the task of the Saints having to do a quick double on them at Cardboard park. Have more faith in your own side, and why should the Pies be barmy enough to take on the job for you? Hope to see you in the GF (you never know) knackered or not.

Even after losing the last 5 GF's in a row, I would bet that every team apart from Leeds & Wigan in 2010 would have swapped places with us to have even got there. Getting to the GF is a great achievement and obviously losing is hard to take but I would rather be there and lose than watch 2 other teams battle it out to become champions.
I dont care how many finals we have lost on the bounce, our aim at the start of the season should be to get to OT and I am desperate to be back there again this year.
We are still the most successful team in SL history (a fact that people seem to forget) and that has naturally brought a lot of gloryhunters out of the woodwork that dont want to turn up if they think we are going to lose but any TRUE Saint would want us there regardless of the result to watch the boys contest the biggest night of the season

Nail on head. I'm a Loiner - 6 CC final defeats and counting - but the notion that I'd rather my forego the hope and expectation that goes with a final appearance beggars belief. It's akin to staying in the house all summer in case it rains.

| Rhinos fan in peace
I've really come to love your guys team, especially considering the brash upstarts at Warrington & Wigan. I'd love Leeds to win again, but if not, you've my (and almost every Leeds fan I know)'s support. TBH the only result I don't want is Leeds winning another GF against you guys.
But think positive. Another win, and you guys will have 20 trophies in the SL era.
(ftr, Wigan have 8. That tends to shut up all that 'fios' =#FF0000moderated).

It's interesting that because over the last 5 or 6 years my respect of Leeds as a club, team and fanbase has really grown. Players like Sinfield, McGuire, Burrow and Peacock are real champions and deserve every one of those winners rings
I've also shared many a pint with some top Leeds fans throughout the numerous semi-finals and finals without an ounce of trouble in any of them - even the final where there was some animosity (2007?) we drank in a pub which was mostly Leeds and had a great time
Good luck for the rest of the play-offs!
