| Quote ="Noel Cleal"I am surprised more people do not talk about Chris Dean who did very little wrong at Saints and would have made an excellent Lee Gilmour-esk second rower. Jamie Ellis also was only given 1 fisrst team game after being very strong in the u-20s. These two players are more likely to come back and bite us on the backside than Emmitt and Johnson.
The bottom line is that there is a production line of young players coming through and the club need to make quick decisions about how good a lot of these players are going to become. We gave Ste Tyrer too bigger chance at the expense of Tom Armstrong who at the moment looks a better talent. We could end up losing him at the end of the year also due to his lack of game time.
We need to give players a fair go then assess them after a couple of years rather than uming and ahing and creating a log jam. I would like to see guys like Greenwood and Hale given a go after some very below par performances from Ashusrt and Dixon for example.'"
I agree with you on Emmit and Johnson, but not on Dean. He is never going to be anywhere near Gilmour's standard, and will probably carve out a career at the lower end of Super League at best. He's a good earnest player, but not top club standard. As for Ellis, I'm led to believe that he was released due to circumstances entirely of his own making.

| To be fair to Saddened, he does not keep his abuse focused on youth players, he has a more shot gun approach that catches all and sundrey.
I would have kept Emmitt if possible, but like has already been said, was the money there to keep him? Perry was a top signing, but has just been injured since basically day 1. LMS again was a good signing. Cloughy was ahead of Emmitt. Surely no one is suggesting TP or Graham should have been thrown out to balance the books?
As for keeping Emmitt over Dixon, Ashurst and Megennis. Well I don't think Megennis had had much game time and Dixon looked pretty good last year.
With Graham, TP Clough , LMS and Perry, that's 5 good props, most season's that would have been a great front row, with 4 in most weeks and 1 for rotation. However maybe the planning last year needed to account for Royce playing 3 props from the start. Which begs the question of who was in charge of recruitment and retention during the transition from Potter to Royce. If Royce needed 5 props every match rather than the standard 4 that most SL clubs run with, then we should have been looking for more Props than 2nd rowers.

Here are you quotes on Jacob Emitt when there was a topic on him:
"emmit is not good enough for superleague imo"
"he has played for the first team 5 times in total, even though he was availiable through our injury crisis last year. We had 2 props out for over 10 weeks on the trot and he didnt show anything. Further more at 22 he's a year older than Frodsham, but behind him in perceived(by the saints backroom staff) to be behind him in ability. That puts him behind Jammer, Maurie, Foz, Tony P, Brynn, Cloughy and Frodsham. An 8th choice prop has no future at our club, its not harsh, its reality. He may make a few quid from playing rugby in the lower leagues but thats it."
Saddends comment:
Big enough, strong enough, but one of those players who just looks like the lights are off inside his head. Everything is done slowly and he runs in with the impact of a marsh mallow man.
Such experts on our youngsters!'"

| Been our best forward this year, my player of the year so far, the injury is a cruel blow and quite ironic in that since Huby did his knee, Emmitt stood up and has been accounted for in every game.

| Anyone else think that Jake's injury was caused deliberately by that To$$er Lima lying on the leg and twisting the knee in the tackle?

Yes. It's a known technique they employ. I've been banging on about it since Maguire infested this country. Lima's such a donkey.

Lima is a donkey but when he knew there was a problem he called for the physio along with Hoffmann straight away. I honestly don't think there was intention
