| Welham crosses for a controversial second in the last minute of the game. Conversion missed by Craig Hall. That takes the game to full time.

| Another good performance from the lads tonight. I thought the halves struggled a touch, but this is just part of the learning curve. Both are picking the game up quickly and whilst mistakes are still cropping up they are more the consequence of unfamiliarity (with each other and the demands of SL) than thoughtlessness.
The pack showed plenty of spirit. Perry is beginning to find his feet and I think - barring injury - he could be a significant asset.
Gardner looks like a player who's under pressure for his position. If only this had been the case for the last seven years.

| The whole pack played really well tonight. Soliola was hitting hard all night. The whole front row completely dominated the game and I agree with Mugwump about Perry, he's improving each week. Lomax showed some nice touches, but made some errors too. I thought Gaskell got caught out quite alot in defence, but he's played a handful of games. He'll no doubt drop out when Pryce returns, but the experience is invaluable for him.
Gardner was fantastic tonight, having his finest period since 2007. Eager for work and looks half a yard quicker than when Potter had him and bulked him up a bit too much in my view.

I agree on the Gazelle. Back to his best tonight. I thought all the usual scapegoats did well tonight, Scott Moore was fantastic during his spells on the field and Sia Soliola was magnificent. Three absolutely ridiculous hits tonight including one I could hear the impact from despite being a good 60m away from it.
Perry, Jammer, TP and Louie, Louie, Louie laid the platform excellently and Roby was his usual self. I don't think the score did justice to the performance as we dominated throughout.

| Lomaskell showed signs of the steep learning curve they face tonight. But it's all good. Their mistakes WILL make them better players.
The pack was superb, we showed glipmses outwide, but nothing dazzling. We are still failing to get good service to Shenton.

| Agreed. We conceded two late tries and the last one in particular was poor. Foster should've smashed into the stand. That aside though, we completely dominated after the opening 10 minutes and put in as good a performance as we've done all year. Some awesome hits throughout and we looked reallt eager to defend. I loved some of the backslapping going on and if we can play in that kind of spirit and keep improving we could have a strong season afterall.
Scott Moore has been playing well recently, but I prefer him away from the ruck. He's aggressive enough to play from the Loose forward position IMO and did really well there against Leeds. Robes deserves to play 80 mins, he's a freakishly good player.

| Not concerned about Shenton personally. He is a fantastic defensive player and he does OK with the little ball he gets. I'm more concerned that the halves don't provide him with the service he deserves.

This.
We seem to play more to the left, which is crazy. Shenton himself has publically said he doesn't feel he is getting the ball to work his skills.

| The important thing is that despite the mistakes Lomax and Gaskell are still able to move the team up the pitch, create chances and show now signs of folding under pressure.

Easier to pass to the left? It may simply be a sign of inexperience and hesitance in Lomaskell to think tactically.

| To be fair, Saints never really got out of 2nd gear. The game seemed to lack any real intensity - maybe that's just the impression due to the subdued atmosphere in the ground.
Our forwards clearly won us the game, as they were pretty dominant. Perry is getting better by the game, and probably just about deserved Man of the Match. Graham took the line on a bit more, rather than trying to be a half back, and made some great metres. LMS must have been close to MOM for his 2 tries and some great drives.
Happy with the win, but slightly disappointed because I thought HKR were there for a pasting. At least we're heading in the right direction.

| The isn't and never was any doubt in my mind that perry would be great signing. He's not the type to come for a well paid holiday.
He missed a lot of rugby and thats tough for such a big man to come back and be firing. His workrate while not being fit has been very very good.
Give him another 4 games and we will see his quality.

Yes. But I think we matched you. Our forwards worked very hard last night, presumably because they were expecting a challenge.

He is being largely nullified because he is being targeted by teams. We kept him quiet last night, which was good. We don't need him rampaging around the pitch!

| Our Pack trashed theirs, with Graham, Perry, LMS, Soliola and Puletua all extremely dominant.
For me, Scott Moore has come on leaps and bounds and is putting in some very mature performances, slotting in and using a range of skills to really balance out the team. I've been critical of him in the past, but have really enjoyed his input over the last 3 games.
Regarding Shenton, we don't seem to get the ball to him enough, certainly not as much as we get it to the left centre, be it Meli or Wheels over the last few weeks. I wonder whether we'll see this imprve as the Lomaskill combo find their feet.

Right handed people tend to find that, although I think Lomax is a lefty. Gaskell's doing the majority of the distribution, mind....

I know he lacks pace but Id like to see him play at loose forward. He can pass well in either direction and In his younger days had a very good kicking game. The lads aggressive In attack and defence, he's comeing along nicely.

He pretty much has been hasn't he? Once the initial 20mins has passed and he comes on, neither he nor Roby come off after that and interchange between hooker and loose as they see fit.
