Just watched it on the internet, and my blood is boiling. If union is the bigger sport, then why has he wasted his own time, and ours pretending he like playing rugby? I was trying to keep a level head, but he can go and now, I will boo him till my throat is ho!

This is the dilemma.

I've no time for Eastmond and wish we could have negotiated an early release for him.

But given that we didn't, I can't see that booing him while he's out there playing for the side will have anything other than a negative effect on the team as a whole.

I'm sure that some of his teammates would join in the booing if they were sat in the stands.

I'm struggling to see where he would play in Union. FB is probably his best option.

From a Saints POV - surely keeping him is holding back the progress of a HB in your reserves that could be given some game time?

Like it or lump it, for the time being Eastmond is one of seventeen Saints players out there trying to win games.

I can't see that an atmosphere of animosity will help in any way here - you can imagine a big game with the oppo fans giving huge vocal support to their team while we spend our time waiting for the ball to land with Eastmond so we can boo him.

Totally agree that we'd have been better getting shut once his mind was made up which would have allowed us to try to bring in a replacement, but we didn't / couldn't.

We're struggling at halfback with the permanently injured Wheeler and Pryce, so it seems we're stuck with him.

It's ok though, he has such an affinity with the club he feels like he's one of us.

I think - myself more guilty than most over the last month or so - that many of us are over obsessing about eastmond.
That stunt of an interview didn't help but we have think about the team and the next home game.

Much as I'd like to boo him and wish he'd got an early bath, I don't think the other 16 players in the squad will thank us for making the next match and therafter all about kyle.
I think they would much rather we cheered them on and ignored kyle.

I think a lot of people on here are gutted that he is leaving rugby league (including myself) as we all know what a tallent he may turn out to be......if he doesn't turn into a soggy biscuit

I think booing him is utter bloooody childish..........Yes for the incident at the warrington game (agreed) but not going forward as he is still part of the team that we are all supporting and should be supported in the same way as to not affect the rest of the teams performance........He has stated that he is going to give his all for us, so give him the chance to prove it....

One thing that changed my mind on the belief that he was ONLY GOING FOR THE MONEY was that on the superleague show last Sunday night it was mentioned that Saints had matched the offer to him that Bath had offered, now I am not 100% sure this is correct but if so it shows to me that he is going NOT JUST FOR THE MONEY but is going to enhance his international career to which we can all kid ourselves about but in Yawnion it is a lot bigger at the moment....this is not through any RU fault but our own RL leadership personell who can not set up any decent advertising deals and big stage impact shows to get the right people interested in our beloved sport!! It is these people who we should be booing!

Raise the profile in our home and international games and a lot more people would want to come to league and not Yawnion!!!!!

I can see a season ending injury occurring really soon. He's been really poorly advised throughout this mess. Joining Union isn't the problem and it's not something anyone can hold against him. But the way he's dealt with it is ridiculous. Instead of being respectful and honest he's made a right mess of things. This interview was clearly a bad idea, one wonders who told him it was the best thing to do?

I can see Friday being horrendous. He is going to cop it like no other.
