Come on. wilkin didn't have a good game oveall and was a pretty poor example of a hb.

IMO Lack of natural half backs cost us the game.

im not saying he's a good hb, but my point is neither is he! He stood in when noone else was availiable, if we'd put flannery or clough there would we be slating them?

Can,t blame Wilkin even though the "bad option kick" was one of the many turning points of the game. To be honest there was always going to be a comeback from Leeds, we just didn,t have the creativity, and Leeds just did enough to open up the game instead of playing to Saints strengths in the forwards.

Biggest worry if we lose Eastmond and Pryce for the season, positives ...........Foster is looking a promising player now.

How anyone can defend wilkin for that kick is a joke, he was poor again. That was our chance to snatch the game.

It's Wilkins fault he kicked on 3rd tackle with 5 mins to go, and also his fault he dropped the ball in our first set in the 2nd half because he was looking who was coming.

Wilkin ain't big enough or strong enough to play in the pack and to slow to play in backs, he does run good lines tho



He does get thru some hard work in defence but IMO is behind soliloa, flannery and clough in the backrow.

If magennis can get some fitness then he will also go ahead of jon "big time Charlie" wilkin.

well let's hope he doesnt put his hand up again....he looked totaly disintrested throughout the game...dropped the ball from a perfect pass...did a nothing kick on the 2cnd or 3rd tackle in front of the leeds line...and they call wello for being slow..but wilkin makes him look like linford christie...time for him to join longy at hull now and take gardner with him too..the only winger i know that never makes 1 run.

Hard luck Saints. It could have gone either way with errors on both sides leading to tries. Don't blame one player for a mistake - he could have been a hero on another day.

Roby should have been halfback and played in a free roll, like at Warrington where he was everywhere.

When kc goes off to be rested roby or Moore could slot in to acting half.

Wilkin should have been 13 and helped out with the ball handling.

He just will never make a halfback as long as he lives, he's not even a good enough reserve stand off as he was today.

Either play him 13 or don't play him at all.

I understand he didn't choose to play there and looks like he can't play there but that's no excuse for that dropped ball when nobody was near him when the first set was so important as we needed a good start in 2nd half.

Also, that kick at the end was utter shocking!

Don,t think (48 hours) is enough time to adjust for the no 6 position, he needed all week to work on all the play executions. His best ever game a couple of seasons back at stand off was against Leeds, but he was probably well prepared for it at the time.

Actually, Pryce's injury first occurred during the Wakefield match and he played with it against Warrington. He was warned that if he continued to play on it, he could end up with a serious problem and so he didn't play today. That means, in fact, they probably did train as if Leon was not going to be available. I just think that what we saw today is as good as we will ever get from a Wilko/Moore combo.

(The decision not to play him was made on Friday btw.)

Loose forward and stand off are much the same these days.

The drop ball in first min of 2nd half with nobody near him and the kick at the end is no excuse if he was playing stand off, 2nd row or loose forward!

Considering you had no halfbacks on display yet still nearly turned Leeds over then you should be proud of your teams efforts today.

With Pryce and Eastmond in there you wouldve been sat behind your keyboards booking up hotels for Wembley now.

Now I just want to cry.

We played a decent side without a recognised half and still had and possibly should gave won the game. To criticise individuals is p1ss poor, they all ran their blood to water were just copping to many injuries.

What makes it worse is it's never spread across the squad, ie a back crisis no centres etc and now no halves. The effort was there for all to see, and for me it just fills me with confidence for the playoffs but long term were developing a hell of a squad with some superb youngsters.
