I would say Farrell was a 'brilliant forward' for Wigan, never for GB though. He was a 'brilliant' prop forward at all levels but could anyone seriously say he was a 'brilliant' LF or SR for GB ? Not a chance.

I agree he had a big presence and even bigger heart though, exactly what Wigan have lacked since he left.

Was never as good as Sinfield

Farrell's performances for GB were not much better than Sinfield's.

The pies need a character like auld faz, they have O'Loughlin I guess though

I think Scully was a little better than Sinfield.

But the selectors chose it that way so it must be true, that is how you lot called it when Roby won it so Farrell must have been the best for his award. Typical scousers, can have it one way when a Saints player is involved but not when it's a Wigan player. Thanks for making me realise why I do still hate you lot

Farrell was excellent for GB when he played as a prop or a grafting 2nd rower. A little less successful when he had playmaking responsibilities.

It would be churlish to say that he was anything other than a great player. Wigan would have been in all sorts of trouble without him and he caused us a fair few problems over his career.

You lot are plastic scouse shysters. You still cannot admit even now Faz has gone that he was class. I have in past given your beloved Scully loads of abuse on the terraces but club loyalty aside have a deep respect for the mans ability as a player and leader of both club and country.

Theres no doubting Farrell was a very good player, the reason we disliked him so much was because he played at Wigan, if he had played for pretty much anyone else there would be many more admitting he was a class player. Better than Scully though? Nope, don't think so.

Who are you trying to convince, us or yourself? Just because he is the youngest forward to captain GB wouldn't necessarily make him a better player.

Scott Moore was (maybe still is?) the youngest player to play in Super League, doesn't make him the best.
