| It's interesting reading the wide consensus of views from other fans with regards to MK. He's certainly marmite.
As a Salford fan of many years, most of which have been spent in constant decline, MK has literally saved the Club from disappearing. So he'll always be held in high regard. I don't always agree with him or some of his ideas and methods, but I do admire the fact that he's not frightened of change. The thing that bothers me about other fans who have a downer on him, which is perfectly fine as we're all entitled to our opinion, is that it's more based on what they imagine rather than the truth.
He works very hard at building and regaining what most Clubs already have in place and don't have to think about. Things like local community engagement, links with amateur sides, and starting from scratch to try and inject the Club into the consciousness of not only a despondent community and fanbase that has had the Club removed from its heart. But also trying to form a wider community encompassed around a completely new area. Not an easy task to sell a Club to the public that has declined over thirty years. He has totally changed the working practices of the Club behind the scenes and brought in people from outside of RL to run vital areas. He's thrown money at recruitment on the field because we basically had a reserve Championship squad two seasons ago. He's scouted far and wide for as many of the best amateur players to be signed-up to the Academy to start bringing talent through over the next few years. He wants to build purpose-built housing and facilities for the academy players. He's even building Swinton Lions a new ground because he sees the benefit of RL back in its own communities. He's brought in serious amounts of sponsorship and tempted UnderArmor into the RL world with a really large sponsorship deal. He bought a top race horse and races it on behalf of the Steve Prescott foundation with all the winnings going to that charity.
All I can say is that he has transformed the Club beyond recognition, and mainly in ways that opposition fans don't see. There's a big difference between MK the pantomime villain and the real one. He's a character, self-made, down to earth. He can be annoying, silly, and confrontational. Is he bad for the game? I don't think so. But I do have a vested interest in him doing what he's promised.
The negativity is spawned from dislike, for whatever reason. Fine. But to suggest he's a fool bumbling from one thing to another is wide of the mark.

| What he does for Salford is fine with me and I think its great he saved the club but this is not what he is getting recognition for in the national press.
Its the ludicrous ideas that make him look stupid. He really needs a proper RL man who has the balls to say to him that his ideas are never going to take off, come up with a proper plan for a decent idea like the 9's tournament instead of tweeting about it.
You mention Swinton Lions but that has gone stale, he spent weeks saying that an announcement was imminent then nothing, he was buying Oldham Athletic, an NRL team, now supposedly moving an NRL team none of which will come to fruition, all false promises.
I dont hate the guy as I dont know him but just wish he would seek proper advice before spouting off on Twitter of all places.

That's because we are paying them about Ā£170k to come and play. Will the Dr pay each team Ā£170k to play his team ?

| This is what I mean.
There is the PR side which is get anything in the press, no matter whether there is a plan behind it.
Then there is the actual side, which is more business savey.
He has to come out and say we will finish top 4 in 2014 and buy SBW and Sam Tomkins etc. Why? Because he has to raise the profile of the club to actually get his hands on actual players like locke etc.
I am trying to be respectful to Salford, but basically they were no were near the top 8 and so not an attractive proposition for ambitious players. Yet if those players see talk of big names going, there can be a buzz created that will make players move.
It's a bit of the old look at this hand, whilst in my other hand something different is going on.

It's blatant you don't like him. That's your choice. Fair enough. Forums would be dull if people did not express opinions. However, I find it quite odd, to be honest. Why would you have such strong opinions and post so much on this thread about an individual who owns another club?
I honestly don't care what owners of other clubs say.

I didn't start the thread. I'm postiƱg like everyone else has on this thread. I'm a honest guy and say what I think.
I've nothing against the man personally as I don't know him. I do think he comes out with some utter rubbish.
What's he's done at salford is unreal. He's pumped money into the club and saved a good rugby club from going bust. I really applaud him for that.
I just think he needs good rugby league men around him to advise him before he opens his mouth.

| He's going to pull out of that dead beat club very soon I feel. If he's lost to the sport it's a shame, as money is one thing the sport could do with. A lot of people at Salford have massively let him down, most obviously the players that have happily taken his dollar and not put the effort in. There were several genuine stars on the field for Salford yet they pulled out of tackles, failed to play with commitment and consistently fail to achieve their potential. He deserves far more than he's got.

Why would a player want to play for a guy who had spent the whole of the previous week talking about buying Gold Coast?
All the self publicity can't be good for the head spaces of the majority of the players

| I'm not condoning his actions. But Rugby League is a tough game and players have a very limited shelf life before they are unceremoniously dumped onto the unemployment line. If he's owed half as much as he says then I can understand his frustrations with Harris.
Taking a pot-shot at Koukash suggests that he aint particularly bright.

I don't think Harris paid the wages to be honest. I'd imagine his beef is with the money men at the crusaders and not Harris.

Harris was surely only the coach. Wrexham failed due to the owners, not one season coach and the coach as far as I'm aware does not guarantee payments to the players??
He is targeting all the wrong people if it's his wages from Wrexham that is his real beef.
Either way could end up a lot poorer for that outburst.

When you sign for a club you agree terms with the board. But it was your initial bond of TRUST with the manager which swung the decision in the first place (especially when two or more offers are for similar amounts).

I doubt Koukash will get involved. If he sued every guy who said similar he'd probably never be out of court. And he's trying to ingratiate himself with the Aussies over a proposed NRL buy. He won't want to rock the boat too much. Just remember what happened to Maurice Lindsay when he ran afoul of the Aussie mainstream media.
