Exactly. Absolutely amateurish from the club once again concerning injuries. Our season is over, in a salary cap sport you cannot lose your best 2 strike backs (Lomax and Makinson) and still manage to win on the big occasions. Its just not going to happen.

Absolutely gutted for Makinson. He has been the best winger in the competition this season and was a shoe in for England.

Let's wait and see before we consign ourselves to wrist slitting. One of the most reliable posters on t'other forum says scans will only happen on Monday - which would make more sense as some of the swelling would need to go down ...

We thought our season was over last season and looked what happened. It's not ideal but someone else like Fleming is gonna have to come in and prove himself.

They think it's broken and ligament damage. I'm just back playing from a broken ankle myself and I was out nearly 3 month and I had no ligament damage.

I'm told they hope it's not as bad as they suspect but if it is, it will be 4-6 month out.

Well Percival is going to have to emulate Newlove a lot earlier than we were hoping for.

It's unfortunate, but lets not jump off the deep end, Tommy has been great, so has Percival when he has been available.
We will just have to Improvise, Adapt, Overcome.

Who's going to play wing? Dawson is out also. Some say we don't need a winger next year

I'd imagine Fleming if not Dawson.

But by adapt, you could go left field and put a big defensive second rower out there to bash the opposition wingers.
Or Jones to Centre, Percival to Wing. ( I know Jones got a knock too)

I would not argue that another winger maybe desirable, but I would argue a top class winger would mean Swift or Makinson going elsewhere.

You can have as many wingers as you like, but few teams have 3 top class wingers in their side.

If we sign a top of the range winger, then the back up will still be Dawson and Fleming as I'd imagine swift will not want to play second fiddle for the rest of his career.

I wouldn't move percy. He's going to be our centre for next 10 years. He should be left to develop in the centre and not messed about.

Bailey Defo won't be there after what hull did to him.

The word re Hardaker was out for 8-10 weeks. He will miss this week but should be sweet for Cas. Until it's official it's not worth owt.

Can,t see Percival ever going back to Wing position, him and Turner are going great in the centres. Fleming is the obvious choice with the fact he,s played a couple of games now and does,t seem to panic when under pressure. Roby is a bigger loss than Makinson I,m assuming if its just fingers and not a thumb discolation he will strap up and play.

Roby's broke his hand.

Has he ?

I just been with robes and he said he doesn't know until the scan. It took 15 mins to put it back in place and his hand is like a balloon.

You can't beat internet rumours.

He's broke his hand but he doesn't know it yet haha

If Roby is out aswell then we're in a mess for Friday.

The news about Makinson is horrible and I'm gutted but Roby out would be a disaster.

I think Makinson being out is a disaster to be honest. He's defensively sound as well as one of the few able and willing to attack creatively and with pace and athleticism. Both are of equal value to us in their different ways. 20 of our points on Friday were scored by Tommy. And we won without Robes on the field.

Jones for wing? Lol.

Injured!

Tommy has been looking good this year and has stepped up more in attack which he was lacking a little at times.

He will be a big big loss in defence as well. He's solid as a rock.


I just hope robes isn't as bad as it looks but it's very swollen and looks bad.

I rate Makinson massively and he will be missed. Roby is on another level though in terms of importance to our team.

Makinson has confirmed on twitter that he's out for 10 to 16 weeks. So I'd say that's him done for the season.
