Elima isn't a dirty player, but the tackle was a bad one. You can clearly see on the shot from behind the posts that he lifts the elbow to go for Lomax, then follows though the head. If Elima hadn't lifted his elbow he wouldn't have made contact with Lomax! Dirty player? no, Malicious tackle? unfortunately yes

Thats because I've watched it a fair few times last night and this morning. The normal camera angle doesn't show it, it was later in the game that Orange showed the shot from behind the goals, thats when you see the full impact!

Guy gets banned or not doesnt really matter as long as Lomax is ok. I was impressed with him in pre season too , if he keeps playing well Gardner should be made to wait for his chance

More of a worry for him given the three plates in his head. How he got up and even played never mind scored after that hit amazed me.

It looked to me like he was saying that he was seeing double when he came off, if that's so he did exceptionally well to score the try. Hopefully he hasn't got concussion and can play next week, for all the talent he has, Wheeler is no winger.

On the tackle, it looked to me like the contact was from Elima's shoulder. Mathers did Gilmour at the JJB a year or two back in the same manner and nothing was done, and I'm not sure it was intentional, so sending off sufficient for me.

Didn't look too bad to me. An attempted big hit that went wrong due to Lomax's footwork. Sending off sufficient.

Thought the same - Elima was looking to smash the shoulder into him, but when stepped it looked as though the elbow came up instinctively.

It's one of those where the end result could have made the offence appear much worse than it was, but IMO there was no premeditation. Given his previous good record, I'd expect him to escape a ban.

Lomax did well to get up and play on, very brave indeed, although he clearly was not 100%, but what a brave lad to continue on and pick up another try before departing. Elima will be banned, yes its easy to say it was not malicious, but what the hell is that sort of tackle doing in the game, shoulder on shoulder I understand, but holy smoke that tackle was so badly timed it was untrue. 2 matches will follow for that one. But the RFL could well give him zero and just send one of those real nasty letters, that reulst in the player poo'ing themself and never ever doing anything un-toward again.

i can only see Saints players getting banned as per usual with the administration in Leeds! everybody else gets away with murder!!!!!!!! if Morley is not stopped soon he will seriously injure a player with his cheap shots.

I'm sure it's Lomax who as a youngster & playing for Wigan amateur club Orrell St James suffered a very serious head injury which lead to him permenantly wearing a head guard whenever he plays. I think Ganson knew this judging by his reaction to the tackle.

He plays with a cap because he as 3 metal plates inserted into his head. I dont think the RFL will let him play unless he as one.

Not only is he tough as nails, he has also been earmarked for great things by the coaching staff. However, im sure Wigan RLFC have someone better waiting in the wings.

What makes me laugh though is the fact that he was given a ban as he had already had a warning letter last season warning him of his technique. While last week Ryan Bailey was sent a warning letter about his technique for putting undue pressure on an opponents joint during a tackle. Last season he was sent a fair few letters about the same thing but he gets off 'scot' free. ( The people that be certainley want to give Wigan a helping hand this season.
