I would love Meli to be dropped this week. Let's have a backline of Foster/Wheeler and Shenton/Gardner, with Makinson on the bench since he can cover fullback, winger and centre if needed (thinking of Shenton and Wello not being match fit). I'd prefer Makinson as a default winger but with Foster's kicking game and Royce's penchant for Gardner, that isn't going to happen. My guess is that Hohaia and Lomax will partner in the halves unless Roby isn't really fit (apparently he had a dead leg) in which case Roby may be dropped, Hohaia to hooker, Wheeler and Lomax in the halves and Meli in at centre.

I'd play Dixon any day of the week over Flannery, assuming Dixon is truly fit anyway.

5 for Perry. He played at Oldham!!

In my team Flannery would be playing this week as would meli.
But in my best 17 they would not make the starting line up, and on present form neither would Lance.

There is a difference between saying flannery should play as he had a mare last week and thinking he is one of our best backrowers.

We need to give everyone a match early on, but for me Dixon and Makinson have proven their worth already and deserve the week off.

Obviously our main missing players are Dobson, Green and Galea. All very influencial players in their own right with their notable attacking abilities seriously effecting our options going forward.

I think the two packs will go head to head very well, the sheer size of Micky Paea (up to now he's impressed me as much as his brother at Catalans) and Con Mika who is very skillful and hits like a bus!! Joel Clinton is currently the best meter making forward in the Super League and Lovegrove the top defender yet has been attacking out on the wing!

Craig Hall seems to be slotting in to the half back role better than most of us fans expected. He has a lot to work on but will be having to work with yet another scrum half (Withers) this week. On the subject of Withers he was one of the halfs that kept Dobson out of the NRL so he isn't such a bad option. That said it is a very make shift set up in what most would say is the main part of a team. Getting our big pack around the park and keeping its shape will be our biggest challenge but if they defend like they did against Wakefield and do not give away as many penalties as they have against Leeds and Wakefield (12 and 13) we have a good chance of staying in touching distance.

This all being said I would go for a Saints win by around 12-14pts injury permitting! I hope I am wrong but with Roby in fine form and Hohia in what I'd say is his best position you should be able to get around the park well with Wellens comminicating with the defenders in front of him to stop our limited attack getting through.

My prediction is 10-22.

Hey it was win win for us. Huddersfield lose, it gives us a chance to go clear top tomorrow. Warrington lose it would have put some clear water between us.

It's a long season and Huddersfield were going well at one point, can't blame a guy for backing the home side. You both battered the opposition last week so it was not like I had a lots of form to go on.

Do they still sell shell suits in Warrington? They were a few years before my time, so never did own one, but would not mind borrowing yours.

Just seen the match report, did not realised Warrington had such serious injuries. Must have played very well for that win running on 15 players.

I heard someone did their Medial Ligaments in too, both are serious injuries if some damage has been done as like you said can mean a lengthy lay off.
