It must be Percival, big ask though to come in after only a handful of games and be first choice centre.

I like a pacey centre like Turner and a big beast of a centre like meli. IMO it's a good combo like the Iro and newlove.

Manu, Meli and Swift down our left has been outstanding of late. We'll really miss Meli. Percival undoubtedly has the talent, as he's shown, but I don't know whether he's physically ready.

I thought Percival was very good with the ball and his defence was top notch early on but he started to miss tackles which he should have been making.

Brown took him out at the right time as his defence was just a little off but he will learn that and get stronger as he gets older.

He's the making of a very good strike player.

Josh Jones, with Percival taking up some of the slack?

FWIW, if we cannot find better, I think Hohaia could do a job alongside Walsh next season. Leave the kicking to Walsh and let Hohaia do the running.

It's simply not a case of us just 'letting him go'. It's probably his last contract and he will be on £140k at Salford, would you have wanted Saints to compete with that offer to keep him?

He was told before Easter that he was free to talk to clubs as we won't be giving him a new deal.

Even still, we couldn't have kept him if we wanted to at that price.

Maybe we could have offered him a deal early enough we would. I'm sorry he's going and think we Will miss him but we need to shake up the squad for next year with few of the older guys going out and some new faces coming in.

I reckon thats how it will go next season, Jonesy starting at centre early in the season with Percival coming in when we get the drier grounds, Jonesy has done well this season does a lot of good stuff that quite often goes unoticed.

As for Hohaia he looked as though he wanted to be very much involved and had a better vision of the game, lets hope its a turning point for him during these play offs, he,s owes us and the team quite a few good performances, lets hope he succeeds.

I don't like the thought of Josh Jones playing inside Swift. Will Swift get a pass ? Josh doesn't like to pass.

He'll get more ball from Percival and Jones' strong defence suits him playing second row.

Percival might already be a write off. Does he really have the build to play anywhere other than fullback and halfback in Super League? Classy with the ball for sure, but he couldn't hold on to a wet hamster, let alone a flying Francis Meli.

Sure he can hit the gym, eat McDonalds and drink Maximuscle till the cows come home, but he's just not naturally got it.

Rob Burrow has been knocked out cold a couple of times though. I think Percival will be fine in a year or so size wise.

His defence was very good when he first came in. He just isn't physically ready yet.

Think one of his first games was against Leeds where he seemed to handle Ablett OK during the match. Physically he is similar to when Connolly first started out.

Leeds was his first game and he took care of Albett all night and Albett was in top form at the time.

Rob Burrow wouldn't play centre. I'm not saying Percival is too small to play rugby league, just that he looks to me to be the wrong body shape for a centre. He'll get away with it in the Academy as the majority of the players are sparrow legged runts, particularly the backs. But in Super League I think he'll get the rough end of things if he's defending at centre. With the other missed tackle wonder on the other side (I'll admit he's looking better recently) it would be mighty risky to have both potential turnstiles in the same defensive line. Could he defend on the wing for a season? Could we get some roids into him by pretending he's off at Uni perhaps?

Pah! Where's the moaning? Questioning if a player is big enough physically to play a certain position isn't moaning. It's discussion. The boy is tiny.

The two results this season say there's nothing in it on Friday. Knocking the champions out on their home ground & a game against Wigan. Wire will take Hudds/Hull for mine.

What more motivation do Saints need?

Percy's only just turned 19 in mid season. Likely hood is he'll fill out plenty.
I'm not suggesting he'll turn into Mal Meninga, but he's got every chance of being big enough to get by on the physical side whilst (hopefully) excelling with his skills and evasive ability.

Saddened; sometimes you are pure genius. Sometimes though, you make me want to put my head in a microwave and turn it on.
