Hoffman didn't hit the standing leg and the RFL are obsessed with the standing leg this season. He didn't hit Wheeler's head either. That doesn't mean to say there was nothing in it. Just that it didn't fit this season's fashionable dangerous tackles. Another ref would have given a penalty for it.

The review committee looked at it and decided there was nothing wrong with it, so why would another referee have given a penalty, and how do you know?

Christ, it's 2 rounds ago now. It's gone, forget about it. It was reviewed and there was no case to answer so he did nothing wrong. It's Rugby League and it's a very hard game, things like this can occur at any time in any given match. Move on and talk about the future instead of moaning about the past, it's not as if Saints have never ever done a late hit on a kicker.

The hit tackle by Hoffman was not illegal. A match official confirmed this to me after the game. What was questionable was the timing.
He said that the RFL would look at that aspect of the incident.

Aye, and the DW Stadium is in a very affluent area isn't it? The women in Kitt Green make a proper effort when they go out around Wigan don't they bless um, they even shave their back.

the thing is stadiums cost alot of money (You just need to ask your landlords and I'm sure they'll agree) and they cost even more if you want to build one in a nice area, in fact councils are far more likely to grant planning permission if a stadium development is in a deprived area as it's supposed to help regenerate it. Plus nice area's are normally full of NIMBY's who probably wouldn't like a whopping great stadium next door.
