We need creativity at half back and Wheeler and Wilkin have it...let Eastmond create havock down the Centre and we dont half miss Meli when he doesn't play.....for his drives!! Come on boys we have got till September to get it going!!

I dint really see what the fascination is with people wanting roby at 13. He isn't big enough for a running game and doesn't have the natual skills to be a creative 13. Either we go with KC and Roby or KC and Moore. No place for 3 hookers in the squad.

I don't blame roby but he is as effective as wellens at centre and KC in the second row, both will do a job but you aren't playing to their strengths.

Leon pryce has, at a guess, played a hundred games for Bradford on the wing. He wasn't doing anything at SO so why not put him on the wing and play either Moore or roby at stand off. Both have played there a number of times before. Roby is one player who couldve dragged us back into the game.

Eastmond-Pryce seems on the face of it not to be the ideal halfback combination. After all the fuss about Eastmond playing for England last year, its a bit unfair to criticise him too much, but if he wants to be a scrum half he needs to develop his passing and organising game substantially.

problem is they are both running half backs, you need one running and one passing half back ideally

Why can't you do both? Just because you are nippy doesn't mean you can't pass.

I don't get this viewpoint of Eastmond not having a passing game, he does. He's got a better passing game than Long now, he's also got a better kicking game than Long did at his age. What he doesn't have is the experience to make the right choice at the right time. He was always going to be a step down from Long in his first season as first choice seven, anyone who expected different is either naive or a fool. He still needs to learn the game, no matter how talented he is.

He would benefit from having a more experienced organising half back next to him though, just as Long did from Martyn. But that doesn't mean he's only a runner.

I'd take Millward over Potter any day of the week, at least I wouldnt be bored watching us.

I think that's the fallout from losing 3 grand finals on the trot. Sean long said after last years grand final ''it's demoralising you know, you start to doubt yourself'', so if sean long is thinking that with the amount he's won what were some of the others in the team thinking?

Long is now in a total new team with new surroundings, but the rest of the saints team are still there.

Eastmond and pryce were both players who could play off longs nouse, but now they are needed to provide that and they are not players who will do that.

You're assuming that Millward would have us playing like that now? He may still do flair and off the cuff but also defence.

I was being a little OTT but tbh I really doubt we could do much worse than Potter at the moment , the players dont seem to want to play for him and it's showing with the poor performances

Pryce is getting some $hit on here which he may deserve the way he's started this year and played the 2nd half of last season but he's not the only player not playing well.

The other players often bagged on here are ade, meli, flannery and maurie but there are others...

We have a current international who is living off playing well in one game at leeds in the cc. This guy is more invisable than pryce but never ever gets any stick.

Also i have forgot the last time i seen KC, gidley, wilkin or clough play well.

I thought Wilkin was one of our better players against Hull.

Graham tried hard, as always but didn't has much to back him. Early on (when we made a few breaks) they came off Wilkin and Graham pretty much every time.

His last big job doesn't suggest he does though.

People are remembering a very good period for us. Millward was only a part of that, he would no longer have Sculthorpe, Cunningham, Long and Martyn at the top of their games. Instead he has Flannery, a well past his best Cunningham, a very inexperienced Eastmond and a runner with no form in Pryce. We don't have the players to play off the cuff like we used to and defences are far tighter than they used to be.

People think Potter is a disaster? We'd see real disaster if Millward came back.

You really have your sensible head on today, that I believe is a realistic assessment.

Some speccies from other clubs said we'd never win the big games when Anderson arrived, but I stated it didn't worry me too much as long as I didn't have to go through any more 70-0 drubbings which we'd get handed twice a season under Millward.

We gave out the drubbings instead, which is a [imuch[/i nicer feeling!
