Keep him in for the rest of the season. Maybe rest him occasionally. Had a bad game on Saturday, let's get over it.

That'd do me. I'd give Eastmond a go from the start on Sunday with Long maybe on the bench.

I disagree. While he may not have the spark he used to, he is a very important part of the team and organising the team.

His all round play has been poor to say the least.

I'd like to see the stats of games won without long over last 2 years.

I know Matty smith coverd for him and if my memory serves me, I think we won 11 games on the bounce without him.

He not the player he was even last year.

The big thing he has lost isn't skill, rugby brain or anything like that.

We all know that he has been immense for us over the years mate.

That aint the point.

Jeez. Just because some fans think that Long is now past his best - and lets face it, he's 32 so no spring chicken in rugby terms - does not equate to them being disloyal.

We need fresh blood in the team as well as some experience. Long hasn't played well this season, give or take the odd moment. That might change or it might not but we don't have the luxury of time to wait on him. We should be using this dip in form or whatever it is to bed in another player or players, spelling Long in tandem with those players.

Personally I do believe its about time we used Eastmond at 7. Reason being is that Sean Long hasnt been at his best for along while and probably needs a kick up the to kick start his season. Nobody is bigger than the club now matter how good they are.

If old Harry Potter had anyhting about him, he'd have long out the team and wilkin at 6/7 but he wont coz in Sean Long is the saints Massiah: one of the most overrated players ever! Surrounded by a good team that makes him look good.

It's pretty sad seeing long play the way he is at the moment.

I never thought we could replace goulding but long as defo done that.

It's just time for him to step up and give us 1 more half season before hanging up his boots.

I'd love long and kc to do 1 last double before they both retire.

I was under the impression we were a poor team. After all we lost to you lot.

Long has had two poor games in a row, and before that was injured. People are stating that he has been poor all season, which is simply not true - early on he was very good, particularly in the league victory over Leeds.

The thing about Long is he always has a handful of games in a season in which he absolutely stinks. Always has done. This has nothing to do with his age or effort - he is a confidence player. The rest of the time he is winning matches.

Personally I'd be looking to give Eastmond more starts at 7, as I think it would do Long good to have some genuine competition for his shirt, but to suggest that he is finished is daft.
