There are a few at Wigan who have to have a "don't like" player. It's been Mathers, Piggy, now Roberts and probably soon to be Pryce.

WIgan fans make a rod for their own back though. A lot of them should think before opening their mouths and post garbage. So many posts at the start of the season about how Pryce was going to dominate this year. And dont get me started about the countless posts on all your recent imports and how they were going to tear up SL and how they were all better than their St Helens counterparts. TBH Rogues, you are one of the few who keep their feet on the floor. Cruncher is another.

I don't know Cruncher personally but I do enjoy his posts. I would think like me his a little more "mature" than most who post on the sites. (I daren't use the word older)

He would be my choice to replace KC (excluding NRL players) regardless of him being contracted here anyway. Still lots to learn but he looks a real talent already, and his faults can be worked on over time.

Absolutely, KC is a once in every 50 yrs player, like Murphy. Scott Moore is IMO the best hooker in this league not playing for saints at this time and it will be great to have him here next year.

"afford" is perhaps the wrong term, if KC decides it's time then thats that. I can see him retiring from playing and moving to conditioner (no jokes please

) or strength coach. He will definitely stay within the club at some capacity whenever he retires. His experience can only help Moore improve further. At the end of this season Keiron will be 33, i think its time to let go, he hasn't been as effective this year and he should retire on top.
I think next year will be very tough for us as will have a new half back and hooker, two pivotal roles. I would be happy with top 4.

I don't think the team could maintain the level of consistency they have now if they replaced both, but we're going to have to adjust without both of them eventually. If KC stays beyond this season it could prolong the transitional period so it could be beneficial to replace them at the same time in the long run.

I'm far more worried about replacing Long than Cunningham tbh. Roby is waiting for the 9 shirt with Moore ready to take the bench spot - both now have a fair amount of SL experience. The same can't be said of Eastmond atm and I hope he gets more game time now we know Longy is on his way.

Assuming Eastmond is the man the club have in mind, of course.

I'm gutted we will be losing him come end of SL season. Had a fantastic start had a blip for a few games but so did the rest of our players but he has found form again.

It doesn't matter either way. This was going to happen eventually. I am sure the club wouldn't seek to use it as an excuse if we dip as well.

I never said he was showing form either so please do read a post properly when going to comment on it. I said he was showing signs of improvement which you can't dispute eventhough I doubt you have seen our last 2 games.

Some Wigan fans do want him on the first plane back but we all know he is going to be here next season whether we like it or not, so we will have to stick by him (which most of us will do)

Therefore the best thing for McIlorum (considering Riddell and Leuluai will be our 9s next season) would be to go out on loan to a super league team to be guarenteed first team rugby.

We'll adapt our style of play slightly as we will have a lot more pace around the ruck with the likes of Moore, Roby, Wheeler, Lomax and Eastmond replacing the old guard.

Roby and Moore looks an exceptional partnership, and Wheeler and Eastmond although a little raw will provide us with a cutting edge and penetration up the middle that we have possibly lacked in recent years.

Im sure the influence of the likes of Wilkin, Wello, Leon etc will assist the youngsters development, from what ive seen so far I wouldnt be pessimistic at all and would still expect a top 1-3 finish.

Theyre all excellent and skillful footballers and the likes of Ashurst looks like he's been a first team regular for years ala Cloughie.

5 missed tackles and 3 handling errors, and that's not uncommon for him.

I really don't think you can replace Long and KC at the same time, but I was told earlier in the year that KC was finishing playing at the end of 2009.

He isn't the finished article yet, there's no doubt. Losing Long and KC in one go is going to be very tough on us, that said i don't see us dropping below 4th if we can get another big prop or two in.

Scott Moore is still a better player than Riddell, your young irish hooker and is making more impact at hooker for Huddersfiel than Tomkins is making at Stand off for you guys.
