| Can someone put me straight on this...I can't be doing with the constant tripe this fella speaks, but he's just been going on about creating a English based team in the NRL, then at the same time talking about raising the salary cap to keep our star players from going to the NRL...is this not a bit contradictory? I mean, presumably this franchise would recruit top English players from Super League?
Am I being thick here?

| Haters gonna hate.
Koucash is a guy who likes to try and come up with ideas to improve the game of Rugby League. These ideas often put the sport as a whole infront of Salford. There are plenty of Chairmen who stand with only their own clubs interest in mind, which can be a cause for the games expansion and progression being stunted.
Some of Koucash's ideas aren't feasible, but it doesn't matter if he comes up with 99 bad ideas if the 100th works for rugby league. The key is that we've got someone thinking and plotting and genuinely wanting to work for the good of the game we love, rather than sitting in a bubble, ticking boxes and bemoaning all the reasons why we're failing to grow the sport whilst claiming a nice fat wage and pension from the RL.
He might sometimes seem like a ******, but who cares - ******s are quite often successful because they go for what they want and don't worry about upsetting all the critics who are sat around with their thumb up their ****. Everything Koucash has, he's built from scratch. He bows to no-one, which is the sort of man who should be representing one of the toughest sports in the world.

| He has all these ideas but doesn't have the backbone to deliver any of them, he's all talk and no trousers. His comment about there only being one rugby was embarrassing and plainly wrong!!
I like the 9's idea but this is not his idea as this has been bandied about before but needs someone with the balls to go ahead with it and Koukash is not that man.

He can only do so much himself, the rest is in the hands of others and in this case it's the NRL. Would they want a "British Bulldogs" team in their competition? My answer is probably not, however as others have said its refreshing to see someone thinking outside the M62 RL box.

Not really its a ridiculous idea that he knows will never get off the ground, if he came up with good ideas then maybe he wouldn't look like such a joke to people outside our great sport. People say he gets headlines but he is just making the sport look amateurish with his tweets and soundbites!!

| You could spend 4 million a year on wages at Salford but you still wont get capacity crowds. Its a white elephant of a stadium. Do any club stadiums that you cant realistically walk to do well? Wembley doesnt really count either!!

Do you think the Aussies would want to come over here for one game each? The disruption and price would be massive.
I know he's apparently got a airline on board but who pays for the hotels, travel when here and food?
The idea is crazy and only the doc could come up with that

| I dont take anything he says seriously, but that does not mean I disklike him.
He is an excellent PR man. Nearly every player in the RLWC that was any good was linked to Salford. (there was no chance that they would sign, but getting the links increased the hype and increased the crowds for Salfords opener).
He is succcessful, that can't be denied, but he is all about Salford (rightly so as their owner).
But he over estimates the revenue streams available. He could bring an NRL all star team to the UK and it does not mean RL will grow. Just that one team in isolation. We need to grow the game and for me this new system allows that. An ambitious chairman can drag his team from bottom to top in a reletively short period. For me this is an open door for expansion, but we need to be like Catalan and target areas with an untapped demand.
Personally I hope a 2nd French team comes through and that the new system encourages more FT teams in the Championship. WOuld it not be great to have 12 - 18 teams pushing for the SL.
I see this system as entirely flexible, but the clubs have to make use of it.

For all the crap he spouts what has he achieved?
The crowds are terrible. They massively under achieved last year. He's buying players for their name and not if they fit into the team. His squad last year was massively out balanced. In fact the PR was of a team that's a complete and utter shambles.
However, I admire him for putting the money into the club that really don't deserve it as the fan base inst the best. He's got to be applauded for that. I didn't agree with sacking noble but Imo he's got a good young coach that given time allowed to make his own decisions will make salford a cup winning side in the next 3 years.
I just think he's tried to do it to fast and throw a bunch of players together and 9 times out of 10 doesn't work. I think he needs some rugby league men around him to advise him.
Also, I think the Reds will beat us Thursday.

| It's interesting reading the wide consensus of views from other fans with regards to MK. He's certainly marmite.
As a Salford fan of many years, most of which have been spent in constant decline, MK has literally saved the Club from disappearing. So he'll always be held in high regard. I don't always agree with him or some of his ideas and methods, but I do admire the fact that he's not frightened of change. The thing that bothers me about other fans who have a downer on him, which is perfectly fine as we're all entitled to our opinion, is that it's more based on what they imagine rather than the truth.
He works very hard at building and regaining what most Clubs already have in place and don't have to think about. Things like local community engagement, links with amateur sides, and starting from scratch to try and inject the Club into the consciousness of not only a despondent community and fanbase that has had the Club removed from its heart. But also trying to form a wider community encompassed around a completely new area. Not an easy task to sell a Club to the public that has declined over thirty years. He has totally changed the working practices of the Club behind the scenes and brought in people from outside of RL to run vital areas. He's thrown money at recruitment on the field because we basically had a reserve Championship squad two seasons ago. He's scouted far and wide for as many of the best amateur players to be signed-up to the Academy to start bringing talent through over the next few years. He wants to build purpose-built housing and facilities for the academy players. He's even building Swinton Lions a new ground because he sees the benefit of RL back in its own communities. He's brought in serious amounts of sponsorship and tempted UnderArmor into the RL world with a really large sponsorship deal. He bought a top race horse and races it on behalf of the Steve Prescott foundation with all the winnings going to that charity.
All I can say is that he has transformed the Club beyond recognition, and mainly in ways that opposition fans don't see. There's a big difference between MK the pantomime villain and the real one. He's a character, self-made, down to earth. He can be annoying, silly, and confrontational. Is he bad for the game? I don't think so. But I do have a vested interest in him doing what he's promised.
The negativity is spawned from dislike, for whatever reason. Fine. But to suggest he's a fool bumbling from one thing to another is wide of the mark.

| What he does for Salford is fine with me and I think its great he saved the club but this is not what he is getting recognition for in the national press.
Its the ludicrous ideas that make him look stupid. He really needs a proper RL man who has the balls to say to him that his ideas are never going to take off, come up with a proper plan for a decent idea like the 9's tournament instead of tweeting about it.
You mention Swinton Lions but that has gone stale, he spent weeks saying that an announcement was imminent then nothing, he was buying Oldham Athletic, an NRL team, now supposedly moving an NRL team none of which will come to fruition, all false promises.
I dont hate the guy as I dont know him but just wish he would seek proper advice before spouting off on Twitter of all places.
