| Thought we played well for 70 mins today. Nice attacking variations.
The most positive thing was the performance of Lance a couple of errors but performed very well today, my MOM.

I thought robes was by far our best player. The early damage all come from him running at the play the ball.

Robes was excellent, its just that I started watching Lance a bit more during the game his workrate, support play and defence was significantly better in this game he even had a kicking game today.
Walmsley had some kind of rib injury........anybody know what the situation is with him.

Agreed. Roby was by far the best player on the pitch today, made the right decisions and we looked dangerous when he ran off quick ball.
Hard to believe considering how long he has been out.

| re walmsley, he was warming up to come back on but wasn't needed.
No point risking him, better to give him some time to recover.
Today showed how teams currently view the league as nothing more than a warm up.
We were a couple of degrees hotter than normal today.
All year when fit Roby has abstained from dummy half running, letting instead the forwards do the yardage. For me this is with a view to getting us used to playing plan b rugby if teams can shut down the dummy half area.
Thought Lance also had a very good game. Showed what he can do if played as a support player rather than primary organiser.
With Walsh at scrum half and Wilkin at loose forward next year, he should get a lot more opportunity to run at people rather than have to organise.

| Pretty much perfect in the first half. Second half was very messy but the game was already done.
We have a chance against Leeds, but they will win because they have leaders that we don't.

| Roby looked back to his best and that momentum he creates let's us through the ball about and play entertaining rugby. With Walsh next year and a good set of forwards, surely we can only get better.

| With roby out . Oppositions with quick defenses hit the tackler quickly as we never ran from dummy half. Today they were quick off the line again. But the runs from dummy half gave us a secondary option. Their markers needed to be more aware to shut roby down. Maybe his lack of game time has meant planning a defense is harder.

| A few thoughts on today's game :
1. Hooray for Roby.
2. Thought Wilkin played very well.
3. Hohaia was not terrible, but still for the life of me can't work out what his position is.
4. Swift and Makinson give us some actual speed out wide. What a pleasure.
5. Not sure why we're releasing Meli. He was very impressive today. Easily the best centre on the pitch.
6. Can Turner keep kicking the goals please ?
7. I think Lomax looked like he was playing on one leg after he injured it.
8. In the second half, ominously, we really struggled to make yards out of our own half. Leeds will cane us.
9. Our defence still lacks real aggression. Quite a contrast from both sides in the preceding game.
10. Adam Swift looks like a sperm with eyes.

| The performance and scoreline might give Leeds a second thought they are not going to get an easy game.
Yesterday we had Wilkin, Lomax, Hohaia, Roby, Manu giving us plenty of attacking options, I know Leeds will try and close those option down but its all about positive attitude from now on. We have a chance at Leeds.

I have been a critic of Lance and there is no way I have given him and easy ride. But yesterday he took the line on and after I said he could not kick for toffee fair play to him he did have a few decent kicks.
So well done lance it actually looked like 2 halfbacks on the field yesterday.
The Meli thing must be down too ££££££ also there are a good portion of fans been calling for his release, me included for some years. The fact he has found his place at centre after several years of being put on the wing is at best ironic,
I think lomax over stretched it in the tackle. Not sure how that will effect him going forwards, but did not seem to effect his running to badly, or the chip through. It maybe a case of pulling him off the pitch if the game is covered.
Speaking of which, it was handy of the announcer to tell the opposition we had pulled the FB off, before we had rebalanced the team. Dobson latched onto that info a lot quicker than us. lol (timing).
I think second half we took a leaf out of the Wire and Leeds book and just kicked deep. The game was won and we played a more counter attacking style.
I'm not sure we lacked aggression, but when the game is done by halftime it's hard to treat it as a 0 - 0 game. You can say go out and treat it as 0-0 but everyone knows it's not and you are already through.
Shame so many missed one of our best performances of the season.

| I loved the first half. I couldn't make the Wigan game and so I cannot remember when I last saw us win in anything like any style. To have so many wonderful tries scored at my end of the pitch (I migrated to the North Stand for yesterday's match) was just wonderful. The second half was not the best, and we were pretty dire in the final 10 minutes (something we must not be against Leeds if we want to actually win the game), but it was sheer joy to see those first half tries.
I'm really thrilled that we appear to have some speed and agility in our back three. All of them did a great job yesterday. In addition to Hohaia in the halves and our two centres (assuming Percy gets back on the field next season), we have some real pace in our team. That's something which has been missing for years. Robes isn't a slouch either! I just hope his ankles hold together.
With his ankles and Lomax's hamstring I was a bit twitchy yesterday, especially when Lomax over extended in an early tackle.

| I think we have to take into account that the game was dead by halftime.
If it was a league game we could accuse Saints of not piling the points on, but points difference means jack in the playoffs. I know the players probably wanted to put on a show, but when the game is dead in the back of your head you know it's over.
Also Hull KR had to improve their ruck defense, so lets not be too harsh, we still won the seconds half. If we had won a tight game against Hull KR, we would have been pleased.

| Great performance by your lads last night - the best I've seen from you guys all year I think.
Brown was smart in that he chose to target our edges early on before our forwards got into the arm-wrestle and took the sting out of the game.

| The attendance seems to be a little disputed.
The ground had 9900, the announcer had 6900.
SKY had 6900, sporting life had 9900.
Saints website has TBC???
Bit of a mess. If I was having to estimate I'd go with 9k as each end can hold 4k+
I doubt everyone could have fitted in the north stand alone.

| I'm gutted we're letting Meli go. 16 tries this season, has laid on the same again for Swift down that side and has been an extra forward bringing the ball away from our line. I worry that Swift won't be anywhere near as prolific without Meli inside him next year.

I've said it for years, he's our best attacking back. He's been a top player apart from those grand finals but he's Bounced back from them every season.
It will be interesting who will play there next season.

I like a pacey centre like Turner and a big beast of a centre like meli. IMO it's a good combo like the Iro and newlove.

Manu, Meli and Swift down our left has been outstanding of late. We'll really miss Meli. Percival undoubtedly has the talent, as he's shown, but I don't know whether he's physically ready.

I thought Percival was very good with the ball and his defence was top notch early on but he started to miss tackles which he should have been making.
Brown took him out at the right time as his defence was just a little off but he will learn that and get stronger as he gets older.
He's the making of a very good strike player.

| Josh Jones, with Percival taking up some of the slack?
FWIW, if we cannot find better, I think Hohaia could do a job alongside Walsh next season. Leave the kicking to Walsh and let Hohaia do the running.

| It's simply not a case of us just 'letting him go'. It's probably his last contract and he will be on £140k at Salford, would you have wanted Saints to compete with that offer to keep him?
