Great news. It sounds like the club have renegotiated his deal as he still had two years left on his old contract. I'm glad he has been given this reward as he worked really hard in 2011.

Great news to have another young english half back tied down. Very curious to see how he goes and if he has the famed "2nd season syndrome" so many breakout younger players have. I hope with Hohaia (sp) signing he doesnt see notably less gametime.

What enabled us to do this was (a) we have just lost some players commanding big salaries, and (b) we declared some time ago that we had not spent up to the cap for 2012.

If you want to play for your home town club then you will do it regardless of the money. If you just want to sell yourself off to the highest bidder then you probably will at some point. That was the bottom line for me with Eastmond, he didn't want to play for us. He wanted the money and regardless of how much we gave him, he was always going to sell us out in the end.

This is true.
I guess the clubs line would be that there is no one suitable available. Players of the quality of Lance Hohaia do not become available very often 
We may as well sign up guys like Jonny up long term on good contracts than do what Leeds did and sign Richard Moore. |

It's clearly a dig at Wigan and Tomkins and their pre-arranged deal to sell Sam Tomkins to Saracens. |

We should have done both. A solid front row grafter like Moore would have done a good job for us. We're light in that area even if Perry decides he'd like to play some games next season. |

I really cant see Lomax being on £100k never mind stains needing the additional £100k. I would guess around £50-70k and then if he does well again over next couple of years, another improved deal taking him to the big bucks.
As usual wigan think all RL news is down to them
