And I would hazard a guess that Laffranchi wont be playing at loose forward for Saints next season.
Wilkin will.
Laffranchi, Perry, McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Clough will rotate at prop.
Soliola, Flannery, Flanagan, Wilkin, Dixon and Puletua will rotate the back row.
Then theres Magennis who can cover any pack position bar hooker and Carl Forster, who I believe is being tipped as the next big thing at prop.
Come what may, Saints have too many back rowers for Laffranchi to be needed to play there.
Roby is a victim of his own high standard isn't he. Probably needs to score some speculation try's to get noticed more.
If Wilkin ups his game to another level, he might have an outside chance.
Wilkin gets a raw deal. England’s stand out back rower (they fell apart when he went off in the final) but probably the least rated. A great playmaker, dangerous runner and a Trojan in defence. He gets overlooked by his own fans at Saints so what is the chance that people outside of St.Helens are going to take notice.
Remember it is not who will be the best player, it’s who is the most popular. Wilkins has the ability to string sentences together without saying "ye know" or "meert" every other word, or to not just give "we completed our sets" as the answer to every question. Therefore he does not have the Forest Gump lovability of a Peacock or a Westwood you need to be popular.
A none starter for MoS sadly.
There is one thing you can definately put money on,but you wont get very good odds that once again it will not be a Leeds player.Since 2004 not one Leeds player has got a look in,When Gaz Ellis got overlooked one great year, it has never hung well with me
