Quote ="Saddened!"Is it time the live salary caps were published? I'd love to know how much we are spending towards the cap. Does anyone know if we're at or near the cap. I find it hard to believe we can be at the moment to be honest. Obviously they wouldn't name individuals, but just the total spent to date or something. With the various bonuses and clauses it would be impossible to work out any individual player details.
Wigan and Warrington in particular seem to make fantastic use of the same cap as we are under. Wigan have this season added Hock to their list and all the rugby league journalists on Twitter are now saying they've added Ben Cross to their squad for the rest of the season subject to him getting a new work permit.
Another interesting point is that Wigan have 94 overseas players and look to be signing another. Maybe its time we got a mole into passport control as well?I know Cross didn't get on well with Leeds, but if he recovered his NRL form he'd be a cracking signing and would add great depth to an already deep squad.'"
I agree with you they should be in the public domain and those with nothing to hide will publish them gladly.
As for wigan I would add that IL (owner) is a very shrewed business man who has personally made moves to also have this exposed to the public domain by way of submitting every financial offer accepted or refused for players that wigan has made to the NRL.
Any club that has offshore specialist accountants must be jumping through salary cap loop holes (Dire).
On the subject of Saints its simples your skint and all the clubs debts have been consilidated into a directors loan that will hopefully be repaid when the clubs new ground opens and starts to pay dividends of which im possitive that it will especially when its supported by your most hated but most competitive neighbours us pies filling it to capacity.
