Oxford RLFC v Whitehaven RLFC
Referee: A Sweet
Touch Judges: T SCOTT D Butler
Reserve Referee: Luke Jordan BLAND
M Com: F Hawley
Referee: Andrew Sweet (Leeds)
This will be his ninth time as referee for a competitive Oxford game, which is more than anyone else. And it's quite fitting that he returns, because this is Oxford's 100th competitive match. His previous games:
23/06/2013 - South Wales 6 Oxford 28 (penalties 9-4 in favour of Oxford)
04/08/2013 - Hemel 30 Oxford 16 (penalties 3-6 against)
02/03/2014 - Oxford 19 London Skolars 12 (penalties 8-11 against, sinbinned Chris Clarke)
31/08/2014 - Oxford 29 South Wales 22 (penalties 9-8 in favour)
08/03/2015 - Hemel 10 Oxford 22 (Challenge Cup) (penalties 11-9 in favour)
03/05/2015 - Newcastle 36 Oxford 20 (penalties 9-5 in favour, sinbinned both Adam Brook and Matty Blythe)
16/05/2015 - Rochdale 76 Oxford 16 (penalties 7-5 in favour)
01/04/2017 - Oxford 24 London Skolars 20 (penalties 9-12 against, sent off Curtis Macdonald for a dangerous tackle)
Last week he was at the Summer Bash, refereeing Halifax v Toulouse.
This photo is from the 2014 game against London Skolars, where he receiving the match ball from the Lord Mayor of Oxford.
Touch Judge: Tom Scott
Has previously been reserve referee for three Oxford games, most recently the League 1 Cup win over London Skolars in April. This is first time as touch judge. Also does in-goal for Super League - in this photo it looks like Warrington are about to score, so I can only assume he is about to disallow it for some sort of cheating.
Touch Judge: David Butler
Fifth Oxford game as touch judge, the last one being the Challenge Cup tie at Whitehaven in the only other meeting between the two clubs. Was one of the first group of match officials appointed by the RLEF, and got to referee Serbia v Italy in Belgrade. I think he’s on the right in the front row:
Reserve referee: Luke Jordan Bland (Leeds)
Second known Oxford game, as he was reserve referee for the win over York earlier this season. Since then he has acquired a middle name. This photo's a couple of years old but he’s the one on the left I think
Match Commissioner: Frank Hawley (Warrington)
Former referee, and this is his first Oxford game. Was a school teacher (art and RE), and started off refereeing schools games. Worked his way up to Super League level. He says he has refereed 7 games at Wembley although I’ve not been able to work out which ones. Retired as a referee in 2003 and as a teacher a few years later.
