| There are many bands I like, some I like a lot.
But I only love the Rolling Stones, they give me all I need musically. If I never heard another band again I'd not care one jot.
I'm very contented in that respect

I think I was there. Did Black Angels support them? Also a great band
I also went to see BRMC in New York a few years later and they played few acoustic song outside after the gig, was pretty special. Going to Manchester this month to see them. I prefer the Ritz to the Academy in leeds.

I've seen both bands on a few occasions. Secret Affair went through a patch of reliving old days, but have recently released an album (one that is on my wants list... One day, along with the City Of Dreams bootleg).
The Lambrettas are a joke now, their original lead singer died about ten years ago and, IIRC, was hardly cold in the ground when the band suddenly decided to reform without him. They're now more of a punk band.
Mind you, they always were a novelty/cash in band.

I thought Dance was a decent song by them, Page 3 another but I thought the chords were a better band .

They wanted to be a ska band but couldn't manage it. The Chords were indeed a great band. Lead singer Chris Pope's new band 'Pope' is well worth investigating.
Oh, did I mention The Skints on the original list?

| Is it me or is there an element of one upmanship on this thread!
Every post seems to bring forth an ever longer and more obscure list of bands no one has heard of or really cares about. No need I'm sure you're all cool dudes. This need to show how far on the fringes you really are is not required unless you're still at college.
Someone must like the Beatles, Dire straights and U2 because they sell more in a week than most of these bands combined sell, ever!
So I'll start, I quite like the Bee Gees!

It depends on what your brought up on , I grew up with New wave and 2tone and just followed that road rather than sink into the mainstream stuff .

Pretty much agree.
It's a bit hard to get away from if you had to share a bedroom with your older brother.
It was all [iThe Jam[/i, [iThe Clash[/i, and [iCostello[/i blasting out of our bedroom when I was a yoof.
Mind you, I took a few beatings for scratching his records when I used to sneak them on when I was home alone.

The thing is people tend to be passionate about fringe bands more than anything because they support smaller acts from the ground up.

My sister stood no chance with the speakers I had . They completely drowned out the Bay City Rollers with ease.
