Why? If theres still a chance they should want to try and get there.

There's a lot to like about Matty Peet.

Peet is a good bloke. Honest, down to earth and incredibly likeable. Agree, a Wigan win this season wouldn't be a bad outcome.

Goodness me, the Sky commentary is banal, inaccurate and downright awful. Surely they can do better than Arthur, Tez et al. It's dreadful.

Saints don’t look all that great yo me either, yeah great flying out if the line and looking agressive, but their attack is bang average despite the sky sports team waxing lyrical about them

Talk of playoffs just sounds very out of tune to me. The clinging hopes have been spoken about for weeks while we've turned in poor performances. Going by Smith's mantra all talk should be just on playing better, I doubt theres a supporter left that's thinking 'ooh we've still got a chance'.

I honestly think the whole club and players would do better not making the play offs this year; having a decent mental and physical break, and then preparing for the mother and father of all pre-seasons for 2024.

Of the entire squad, I think Cam Smith has been generally outstanding this year, Tommy Holroyd has put a shift in although looks tired now, Martin has been solid playing out of position, and James McDonnell has been the find of the year. Other than that I can't think of a single player who doesn't need to show some improvement.

As for this game it's anyone's guess what result we'll get but I wouldn't dismiss a hiding again, our current team is decimated.

Of course the players should be talking about getting in the play offs while it’s still possible, odds are slim and I don’t think it will happen. But not believing they can make the player is an absolute loser mentality.

I'd have to disagree. Talk is cheap sometimes and we've heard many soundbites over the recent weeks and still been 'losers' I don't think not mentioning playoffs is about loser mentality. I'm not talking about saying they can't win the game in hand. All opinions I just think it sounds out of tune with where the real focus will be.

Edit- actually, I've just checked the table and as well as beating cats and Cas, salford and Warrington not winning, we're also looking at closing a 50+ points gap, it's not just out of tune, it's ridiculous.

What we can agree on is that the club needs to restore a little pride after last week if possible, and maybe come home with a moist sail.
