I think its his spot to lose now his defence & timing when linking into the attack has been excellent albelit only 2 games in.
Opens a spot for Mclellend on the bench as well so win win at the minute.

He has been good. I thought a little lack of pace might have been an issue for him, but credit he’s done well so far.

Attitude goes a long way in sport.

Good one on one, takes a high ball and adds a different dimension in attack.

Bigger tests to come for him and the team but so far so good.

What he does give us is about four half backs across the line (including Smith - Cuthbo is tricky too), which makes us very hard to handle as long as we’re on the front foot.

He is a good player and credit to him for his response this year.

Hope so it looks like Walker is out for most of the season . This team spirit which is visible throughout out the squad this year must be down to Agar and the staff

I agree. But I think you could add Martyn to that as well. I’ve been v impressed by him, he looks class in defence and attack. And that little chipped kick with led to a try was that of a seasoned half.

I’m happy with where we’re at. Convincingly besting the teams expected to finish lower than us, and putting up a good fight against those who should finish above. Still early days but credit to agar, the team spirit is back and we’re miles better than twelve months ago.

Bigger tests to come but hes done more than asked if him so far. Mylers defence has really improved this year.

I was ready to let Cuthbo, Dwyer and Myler go this year to free up cap; however all three have been great.

Johnson going might just tempt us to keep Dwyer on, I don’t know.

Whatever happens with Myler, his attitude this year has been awesome. It would have been so easy to sulk about it and just kick around for this year, but he’s gone with it and fair play to him.

even if they don't get new deals both Myler and Dwyer are playing well enough to get good contracts elsewhere .

I would re sign both without a doubt. Both hugely improved. Myler gives us so many options. I suppose it will depend on salary cap balance.

I think they’ll both get extensions and to be fair it’s hard to argue against that at this point in time

I said it last season. Dwyer is a good player but needs to kerb his enthusiasm at times. Dont shoot the line and know when to run or pass. 3 things which he has definitely worked on this season. I would defo keep him.

I guess it will depend on cap and who else might be available to come in. Myler clearly isn't first choice anything at present, but he's been fantastic as cover. Covering half back and full back better than L Sutcliffe, arguably, and adding some cover for hooker too. We're stacked for second rowers with more excellent prospects coming through, I just can't see a future for Sutcliffe there personally.

So I could make a case for a squad with Myler in it and not Sutcliffe.

Cuthbo has been in great form, I guess it depends what size of contract he'd want to go round again - his experience and leadership is valuable and if he's used sparingly he still looks up to it. Wouldn't have said that 1-2 years ago, he looked shot.

Dwyer we probably have to retain now Johnson has gone, used in conjunction with Leeming because you need 2 credible players at hooker really. Dwyer creates tries, and he has a great competitive attitude in all aspects.

I don't know but I suspect Leeds have lined Johnson up at hooker for so long now, I'm not sure who would be next off the production line. Parsons looked OK?

He's played really well hasn't he.

Seems to be flourishing at FB. I think the pressure is off him. He has a free role in attack which really suits his game.

Clearly the controlling half we asked him to be wasn't for him.

Hope we stick with him at FB.

He's had a good game and a half at FB but don't get carried away. He's not been really challenged in D yet. Tough 4 games ahead, reserve judgment until the end of March

It will be interesting to see how the side holds up when we don’t get our own way down the middle.

I’m not too convinced about Myler under the high balls but his D is reasonably good for his size - like you say, I suspect we’ll find out more soon.

Having said that T Briscoe will be back shortly and then we could drop Ash to FB if needed. Different type of players.

Noticed in the warm up last night that Tom Briscoe was lining up as a full back in attacking shape so maybe there is a plan going forward.

Probably stepping up his rehab.
