Given Ava (can't even type his surname yet, let alone say it), Albert, and assume Crosby to come back and young Holroyd, that's four of our initial prop rotation under real pressure to get a game. Peteru's gone OK as has Oledzki. That puts real pressure on Cuthbertson and Singleton in particular to get in the first 17.

I'd let cuthbo and poss singleton go end of season. Bring in one more good prop. Where the heck is Crosby? What injury has he got. Furner saying 4 weeks at least until any of the injured come back.

It gives us much needed competition for places. We could always play Cuthbertson at 13 and Merrin at 11. On paper this pack has a bit of size and should be able to defend.

Hopefully he will make a difference. The pack needs a few more willing bodies at the moment, especially with a bit of physicality to them.

Good to see the Donaldson and Albert signings haven't prevented us from bringing in someone with better pedigree, as some of the naysayers have been claiming they would.

I'd say the deal was done weeks ago - no doubt waiting for clearance re his injury to sign him.

Great signing as for being a "naysayer" Uncle Albert Donaldson Ablett & Jjb remain a waste of SC space imo.
We could sign the Burgess trio it still wouldnt convince me the 4 mebtionrd above are good enough or worthy of the shirt.

Bar Albert (who is on a short term deal) the rest are back row options. Long term they are not the solution and you will have no arguement from me on that, but who exactly are they blocking from coming in? Who is the line busting back row we could have got in the summer or mid season? As line breaking back row players are few and far between I don’t think there are any. So to say it’s a waste of cap doesn’t really make sense as without them we don’t have anybody lined up to use that money on. Now if next season we keep Albert, Ablett and Donaldson your point may have some weight to it as clearly time to bring somebody would be a real factor.
If we bring in said line busting back row end of season and we get rid of JJb, Donaldson, Albert and Ablett will you change your position?
As a side note if the response is we shouldn’t have them in the squad and play trout et al instead then that’s a different issue, trout et al are already in the squad so the cap we spend on the other players makes no diffeeence. The grievance would be with players blocking young players not cap waste.
