Chuncked up plenty though - well off being 'match fit' as well - he was blowing like a train 10 minutes in.

He didn't let anyone down and supplied lovely ball for Halls try.

He did well for his first game back,will take a few weeks to get fit ofc.

He mentions it in his interview on leeds site. Did 60 minutes says he has put on some good and bad size but has hardly got back to running etc. Thought he went well

Almost as big as his mate Huby.

Obviously spent most of his time eating and lifting weights! Still, as others have said he did pretty well considering. With the extra bulk if he can work off that excess timber round the midrift we should be looking at an international standard back row again in a few weeks which is much welcomed.

Given his injuries in the off season and the slow healing then he won't have done too much fitness work. See what he's like in 5/6 weeks.

In the modern game with all these nutritionists and such like is it acceptable for a player to let themselves get so out of shape?

He played well so his general fitness levels seem ok but he looked like a fat kid left in the sweet shop too long.

I don't think hes out of shape, hes probably not been able to do much "leg work" with his injury so has focussed more on his upper body.

I honestly didn't recognize him when they came out.
