Hes a prop, good size. I saw him play in pre-season friendly against a very young Leeds team and for me he was best player on the park that day so when summer bash was on i was looking forward to seeing him play. Sadly i was disappointed in him that day but thats 1 game.

When Leeds play Fri and Batley are at home on the Sunday i take advantage of the £5 SL season ticket offer and this week they play Fev so i will keep an eye on him again to see how he goes against Batleys excellent 4 props.

Another Andy Yates for me - can't see the point of replacing Baldwinson with him - he is no better.

Think it suits both parties. Featherstone get some cash - not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but that'll cover someone's wages for a year potentially - and a player they like. Leeds get some reward for bringing Baldwinson on and a player they can take a flyer on and see how he develops in a full-time environment.

And Fev will get Ormondroyd back on dual reg for most of the season if this deal is actually true.

Unless he is playing in next years reserve team.

Sadly i dont see the reserve team returning anytime soon.

It should be a requirement of all clubs wishing to play in SL that they MUST have a reserve side
We need to keep these talented 19 year old kids that dont initially get a first team squad place at their respective clubs involved in our game

If we neglect this then our game is shooting itself in the foot

I totally agree pal but the last i heard GH sees the 19s as our reserve team and then any players deemed to have potential can go on dual reg.

Like when we signed Andy Yates! And yet we have a player with massive potential in Baldwinson. Can see what will happen. Ormondroyd will get a few games, not be up to scratch and moved on. Baldwinson will go from strength to strength and being signed by Saints, Warrington or Hull

i don't think he will have a choice in it. He has been proven wrong this season, and I don't think he will dig his hole further.

The reserves competition obviously being a roaring success this year with more than a quarter of sides not even bothering to finish the year and 1 not even starting it.

No they aren't. Maybe in their secret meetings with you they are but 3 teams have quit the reserves league because it was a waste of time, 1 didn't even start because it was such a waste of time.

If you want to pretend there is some clear and obvious correlation between success and teams having a reserve and not dual reg system then you would be wrong. Whilst it's true that 3 of the top 4 have reserves, they are also 3 of the 6 clubs to have contested a grand final before this year. There is also the fact that Les Catalans don't run one and they are doing better than Saints who do.

Catalans do have a reserver/feeder team, in the French leagues, where do you think they keep pulling players from not in the academy? Leeds and Bradford have contested grand finals, coincidentally not running reserve leagues, but then that doesn't match with your agenda doesn it? it just catches out your pointless argument. It does not need me to say it works, and certainly you saing the oppossite only adds credence to it, but you only have to listen to the coaches who do it saying it is no coincidence. Or Jamie Peacock and the Huddersfield coaches who don't do it, saying what a mistake it was.
