| I have been one of the worst critics of McDermott in the past, but (apart from 2 recent matches to forget - I forgave them the Saints post CC match, where they gave it a good shot).....I want to thank McDermott and the team for some damn good bluddy footy this season and for some never to be forgotten memories. I know the season is not yet done, but I genuinely will not be disappointed if that's it for silverware this season, cos I know even if we lose any of the next 2 maximum matches the team will undoubtedly give it their all. (And you can't ask for more than that can you?) The defensive effort last night was a joy to watch.
Only in future decades perhaps will it be truly appreciated what a top group of core players this has been; epitomised by Peacock and (especially) Sinfield. I will be there on Friday for the 200 miles round trip to see 3 true legends run out for one last time on the Headingley turf.

| Couldn't agree more.It will still be very tough to get the 3rd and toughest leg of the treble done but the way we have played this year for the most part has been fantastic, and if we don't quite manage it i still think it will be looked on as Mcdermott's best,it certainly is for the consistency of quality rugby on show.

| 2 Grand Finals
2 Challenge Cups
1 World Club Challenge
1 League Leaders Shield
Not a bad haul.....and they might be more yet.
I echo the sentiments above. Would be absolutely great to land the GF and make it a treble. But if we don't then it'll still have been a great year, up there as one of our best single seasons ever.
I imagine some opposition supporters will try the old trick of saying the "pressure is all on Leeds now to do the treble"......honestly I think that would just be the icing on the cake to achieve that, but if we lose we've still had a great year and two prizes to show for it. The others three only have one shot left not to end the season empty handed (at least two of them are guaranteed to finish without anything)

| With the haul of trophies he has, is McDermott the must successful SL coach?
I don't know how many trophies Daniel Anderson won but I think the only coaches who have won two GFs are leeds ones

In terms of Grand Finals only, Brian Noble has 3 (2001, 2003, 2005) and Ian Millward lead Saints to 2 (2000, 2002)

Noble got 3GFs, 2 league leaders (only 1 trophy), 3 wcc, and 1 challenge cup
McDermott has
3GFs, 1 league leaders, 1 wcc, and 2 challenge cups.
Still 2 tophies away from being able to argue he was the most successful SL coach. Certainly 2nd though I would have said

Agreed. My comment was to the previous "in terms of Grand Finals" comment.
